Norinco Type 97

The civilian chief of the CFC has left, replaced by an RCMP officer, after only 6 months on the job. Why, I don't know, but all the formal letters I received with regards to the 97 were written by the former chief.

Approximately when did this happen? How long was the civilian chief in that position?


I don't particularly think this is a good thing....it usually never is....

He left in august, joined earlier this year. Either he was due for retirement and they promoted him to bump up his pension, or they canned him.

Canned is the more likely option. His spension bump would have been negligable (AFAIK civil service is 75% of their best five years, so a six month stink would have been basically worthless).
