Norinco Uzi?

Nope but Norc should go to invent one on their own instead of duplicating this Uzi from end to end.

I would give Chicoms credit for their Type 97 but knockoffs suck. It doesn't matter if the fake products are DVDs, designer jeans, Olympic merchandise or guns made in People's Republic.
Why re-invent the wheel?

Do you get pissy at all the companies who make AR15's?

Well their manufacturing techniques these days are certainly on par with what has been common in the west for some time. Materials can be hit and miss since they import most of it instead of producing it themselves. What the Chinse ARE very good at, is taking an existing product, and producing their own variant of it, at a cost that nobody can come close to competing with.

We should remember that china's manufacturing technology and materials are far ahead of ours. Productivity is the priority. No unions, no corporate politics. The Chinese government wont let anything get in the way of turning out huge quantities of high standard goods. Norinco is one of the most hi-tech manufacturers on the planet.

There aren't really any incentives for them to "invent" something new for markets of the West. American and European companies already supply their own police and armed forces. Not that these customers would buy from a communist country anyway, even if it had unique products.

For third world clients with limited budgets, the tried and tested small arms are cheap and plentiful. The "Uzi", "1911" and "M14" are not what brings home the bacon for Norinco anyway. It's their tanks and howitzers.

don't be so hard on norinco..... I had a 90's era m14 and shot over 100,000 rounds through it w/o a hitch...and the guy that bought it off me is still shooting it!!!!....WOW an UZI !!! what it must be like to live in a FREE country!!!!

Last time I checked we do live in a free country. I don't wake up with people shooting at me, I can pretty much say and do what I want within the bounds of the law, I don't have to worry about the police and organized crime being on the same side, and for the most part people are honest, caring, hard working, and willing to help. There is more to life and freedom than being able to own every firearm known to man.

A Norinco knock off of another well known firearm. Wow, what a shocker. One of these days the world will wake up to the complete lack of copyright protection or scruples, an artificially cheap currency and complete lack of employment or environmental standards in the PRC (People's Rip-off Country) and finally slap a 300% duty on the products made in that f**king country.

If its Chinese and you can avoid it do not buy it. Every time you do you send Canadian manufacturing jobs there. Think about that the next time you want to buy the cheapest firearm money can buy from China.

Yeah man, Larue, KAC, DPMS, Stag, Bushmaster, ATR, ID, etc. etc. should go invent their own guns instead of duplicating this Armalite/Colt from end to end.

Next time anyone wants to claim 'I don't buy Chinese!' they should first burn all their clothing, electronics, probably their house as well for safe measure.

Nobody in Canada was making firearms similar to the clones that Norinco is selling here, as far as I know, so they are not taking away Canadian jobs... And I DO NOT feel at all sorry for a loss in American arms sales when I buy an M14S for $429 CAD instead of $2000+ USD for an M1.

On a different note, I run a tire shop. I have to say that alot of tires are being built in china. even bfgoodrich and kelly springfeild medium truck tires are now being built in china.
I have had a conversation with one of my wholesaler about a product that I was very pleased with. His comment was. well what can you expect all the factories are new , built with the latest technology. Therefore the product tend to actually be better than what we have built here in north america. Most of the tire plants are 50 plus years old. and tires are being built on old machinery.
to make it simple, 20 years ago, I maybe saw two tires a year that balanced up perfect. Now with almost half of the tires I sell being built in china, I see at least 30 to 40 each year balance up perfect.
So do I think the stuff built in china is junk.. NO.
