Can anyone tell me if its any worth to get a norinco 1911 or a nz85 reliabillity/ saftey wise, I'll probably only go through about 600-700 rounds a year on those pistols, Im not looking for the best quality handgun or anything like that... All I want is good chepo I can shoot with

p.s I know that all 1911 norks need a trirger job how much does that cost?

Not all Norinco 1911 pistols need a trigger job. however most can be improved.

And to think he's used 50% of his posts to date asking the same question..... :D

BTW, as far as the Norc 1911 trigger pull question goes.... the last one I bought, which was the compact [commander] model last year was pretty much good to go right outta the box. I have been pleasantly surprized....

Depends what you define as a "trigger job". You can learn how to strip your own gun, and polish the internals for free. All it takes is bit of research, basic tools, and some time. While you're at it, you could also install a match trigger and sear for a few bucks more. Or you can pay someone to do the same thing. The advantage to doing it yourself is that you'll actually learn something. And as stated, not all 1911's need trigger work. Better to buy one, shoot it, and then decide what it needs. ;)
 
Yes I think they are good for the money. Many people love them. The 1911 ans NZ 85 are most common. As for tigger job, not just Norinco, many brand name gun need too. You can check with Armco, one of our site supporter, he do very nice trigger job and smooth out action of Norinco 1911,may cost you about a hundred dollars.

I will lodge my customary vote against Norincrap, and go away now.

YOUR mileage may vary, but the three strike rule has applied to the Norincos I have owned / shot: 100% garbage.

Norinco good, blah blah blah.
I own one (NZ-85b) and its great. The price was low enough I could squeeze it in between credit card payments, loan payments, rent and everything else.
Go handle some of them, and figure it out.
Another thing to remember is your probably not going to only own one pistol for long, so don't sweat it too much.

Fugly can be good.

I think a Norc is a great gun........... to use as something to learn customization, refinishing, and gunsmithing.

The only reason I posted the same message again was because I didnt get the answres I want in the first meesage. And I did use the search function but didnt get the answers I wanted there either.
