I see the Canadaammo NS522 is being offloaded at $199. I am new to the .22 bolt action. I have been doing some research and found that the stock was indeed designed for another weapon. My question is; Is it better to fix up the stock that it comes with, ie, pillar beds, barrel bedding, trigger tuning (has to be done anyways), fixing the overall mess causing by the machining for a different rifle.

I have heard various suggestions about using blanks from places like Boyd's (although I did not find them helpful at all). I don't know what comes in a blank or what is involved in bringing it to completion. Perhaps my best bet is just to start with the provided stock, strip it and tune it from there. I would appreciate as many suggestions as I can get. I have seen a thread or two about bedding and pillaring but I am quite interested in the new stock option. Any compatible stocks would be very interesting.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I went to order one this morning and they were out, I wanted to give it to my son for Christmas.
I sent a message asking if they might have more coming but they didn't reply, probably wont bother. I will wait and see.
A friend of mine has one it shoots ok but doesn't feed every second round gets stuck going into the chamber, really bangs up the bullets trying to cycle the action.
The mag is very loose, they offered to replace it if it can't be fixed but are out of stock. He may be S**t out of luck.

In another thread guys have said that KFS industries has only a handful of the proper stocks for the original imports left and are "giving" them away for a mere 140 dollars. I plan to keep chu wood stock on mine, I like the shape. Something will have to be done about that bolt cutout though.

Tell your buddy to see if a shell will slide between the extractor and ejector (from the bottom)without too much resistance. If it doesn't he needs to clean and file these until it does or have a gun smith do it for him if he isn't sure.

Holy crap, I saw a site Poly Technologies Inc. who sell magazines for the Norinco NS522 for a mere sum of $160 per pair. First time I have seen them for sale but hey I could have got the whole rifle with two mags for $200. Crazy. You would have to be pretty desperate to pay that.

Got a message from Canada Ammo yesterday that the Norinco NS522 are back in stock.
I ordered one this morning for my son as a Christmas present.
Now I have to come up with a set of rings and a scope.

Thank You Canada Ammo

That should be the easy part. I saw they were back up on the site.
