Nork JW 20, SA takedown on cheap at tenda

Darn thread. I've ordered one of these myself and looking forward to playing with it whenever the post office gets around to dropping it off. They get my number mixed up with the guy down the street. That's how I got to know him. swapping misdirected mail back and forth.

I last time I fired a real Browning SA22 was eons ago and I liked it, so I'll take a chance that this Norinco turns out to be half the gun the Browning is for way less $$

Hitzy,i believe you said you sanded the small wire clip flush that holds the cartridge guide in place.i think that small amount of wire sticking out
holds the round in place when you rack the bolt and prevents the round from falling out.

This is good to know. I saw that bit of wire sticking into the action and figured it would be an issue (same as Hitzy, I imagine), and was going to trim it a bit. I'm thinking I'll just leave it.
Edit: Here's a pic of mine scoped up. With the Weaver #60a mount, and low Weaver rings, I managed to get VERY close to the bore. Hopefully manage to get out this week and test it.

I'm surprised how well it worked even with that part mucked up by me lol. I guess the bolt cycles fast enough during firing it's not an issue.
Cheap lesson at least...$5 spring lol.
I had more fun with the cheap Nork beater then my 10/22... it's pretty boring though, never jams and shoots like a laser lol

I got another rifle coming lol, but thanks for the link, I will have to grab one eventually.

Ah you went and bought another one eh lmao! I'm still waiting for the replacement of the damaged one I sent back, haven't decided if I should give it to my friend as planned, or just give him his money back lol! I've got 5 kids so lots of reasons to own more than one.

Probably pushing my luck ordering a 2nd... hoping it's as good as the first, but who knows what will arrive, cracked stock, seized up with rust, half a rifle lol.
I have had moderately good luck with Nork rifles...not so much with the pistols lol.

... cleaned out the mag tube plunger, completely full f the same whale tar gunk. Easy to do at least, just drift out the pin and it all comes apart. Still can't budge the extractor pin in mine lol.

Will do an accuracy test next, got her scoped up. Still think it looks odd on these rifles lol.

I got my replacement today, they (tenda) opened the box this time to make sure it was good I guess, and it is. I took it completely apart and man, this one was greasier than the first. Cleaned up quite nice, and now I feel like I want to be a bad friend and tell my buddy to buy his own and keep this one to. These are excellent value for the money, and look awesome for the price point. Anyone on the fence about buying one of these I say DO IT! When they ban guns with detachable mags you can keep this one!

I'm thinking 2....one irons, one scoped, and a 3rd for parts lol.
I just really don't want to degrease another one of these...wonder if my wife would mind if I ran it through the dishwasher?

Well the 2nd one is decent too...no cracks, I really dislike the gunk storage oil... gross. Soaking all in varsol and will clean and reassemble tomorrow.
Butt is more painty then the first one, almost solid color. Overall no complaints.
I think a 3rd for parts is in order lol. Should last a few lifetimes of shooting then.
Shockingly surprised at how decent these Norks are...and I don't think those words have ever come out of my mouth lol.
Can't stress enough how important a complete tear down, degrease, and lube is though...recoil spring reassembly is the only tricky part, anyone with a bit of mechanical ability should be able to handle it however.

+1 for the recoil spring/detent.i suggest removing and replacing those parts in a small room like the bathroom.if the parts go flying at least you'll be
able to find them.definately don't do it at your work bench.how do i know this:redface:

Going to try and get out today for accuracy testing of #1 and function testing of #2.
#2 is right between detents to get the barrel adjusted rock solid...has a litlle wobble if you apply a fair bit of force. I'm going to see if it affects accurate shooting before I work on it. Pretty sure I can fix it easy.

---rifle #2 works great, definitely that little spring sticking into the feed ramp that keeps the first round from falling out when loading lol. Got the irons zeroed and it's probably a bit more accurate then #1.
---rifle#1 had issues with stringing, not sure what the deal is, but I'm going to try a different scope first, it didn't string with the irons so either the base or scope is not being friendly. It would put 2 in the bull then shoot the rest 3" higher. Not trying to make a target gun out of it, but that is the difference between a hit and a miss on critters.
Bench shooting these SUCKS, hot brass bouncing everywhere, got a bunch down my coat and one that stuck between my hat and head FFS.
