Hi All. Im seriously thinking of going to the ORA practice day at Cedar Springs this Sunday.

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=363864

Living here in SW Ontario doesnt doesnt give many oportunities to get out shooting. Being layed off doent help... Havent shot over 100 yards in 10 years. So here we go, jump in and giv'er. Ive got a bone stock bomber here, ony 20 rounds at 25 yards so far in its life. You can see in my pic the first few groups ever for this. Ive got my basics to bring, hope its dry by Sunday.

Im trying to borrow a spotting scope from a bud, but still looking, Ive got some ammo cans and a little sandbag for a rest.

Will get on Paper at 300m???

Any tips? What to bring, Anyone else here going?
Any Windsor essex nutters want to go out for the challenge too? Ive got room for at least 1 in my ride.

Im going to see how this goes, then do some rifle tweaking and see if the rifle and I can both improve

I gotta go get some grease on my M14 before my junk falls off.

From your pic, I can see the cosmoline weeping out from the front sight, gas tube and spindle valve. When you shoot it, do you get smears on your glasses from the cosmo in the reciever? I had my Norinco go from semi to single action because of all the gunk fouling up the spindle valve. If you strip the stock from your rifle and blast all those parts with brake cleaner followed by a light coating of CLP or other gun oil you will be a lot happier with your Norinco. I own quite a few milsurps and am very familiar with Cosmoline, but i have never encountered a weapon as clogged with it as my "new out of the box" 2007 Norinco M305S/M14.
I also scrubbed the stock down with a lot of Simple Green and many many rags, which got rid of the soaked in cosmo. After that, I applied about 6 coats of TruOil, and made the stock look almost like USGI walnut.
