Hi..
Im sure this question is rediculous,
but I was wondering, I hear occaisionally that norc m305 stocks are rather crumb-bummy, and I am probably going to try picking one up soon,

My question is, will I (if I find that the stock is not to my liking) be able to buy an M14 stock (from EE or whatnot) and just throw that on?
or are the dimensions slightly off, ..
will I have to do any sanding or whatnot, or will it just slap on there like it wants to be home..

thanks folks!

oh, P.S.
Is my avatar extremely irritating, should I change it for something a bit 'cooler'? :) (it's captain Picard if you didn't know for some crazy reason)

Short answer, Yes. Any surplus or factory stock that fits the Springfield M1A will work with the Norc 305.

sweet dude!
thanks

oh, also..
to put a bipod onto an M14/m305,
what hardware is required, and is it only doable on a synth stock?

Not quite as short answer, there are a couple of mods you may wish to make to the usgi stock to have it work better, such as making sure the retaining pin for the op-rod spring guide can't slide out. Read the stickies...

All depends on what stock you want to buy. If you are getting a Boyds stock, then you will have to install the metal liner + screws, front furrel and sling swivel w/rivets (or bolts). Also would need the butt plate + hardware. A little fiddilly, but no special tools required and you can harvest most everything from your existing Nork stock. You would also need to put a finish on the Boyds stock. Could be as simple as light sanding and Boiled Linseed Oil. If you really want at'er, you could shape the stock to a thinner profile, but I wouldn't bother.
