Norma branded Oryx 7x57 ammo, good for whitetail and black bear?

I have used Oryx bullets with perfect satisfaction in several calibers. They are my #1 pick for use in most of my big game rifles. I have always had quick expansion, deep penetration, bullet held together even when heavy bone was hit. The few recovered were all over 80% weight retained. Mushrooms are usually double caliber diameter. I have used Norma Oryx to take Mule deer, Whitetail, Moose, Elk, Black bears, Oryx (Gemsbok), Kudu, and Giraffe. In in my opinion the Norma Oryx 154 grain is the best factory load available for the 7x57.

Thank you Longwalker, that's yet another endorsement that helps to seal the deal.

Now you know why Norma is my handle. lol.
I shot a bunch of Deer, couple of Bears and a Moose with Norma Oryx 156 Gr in 6.5 x 55.
Great round, if placed right in the boiler room, they usually don’t travel too far.
Looking for some in 9.3x55.

Unfortunately no experience with the Oryx on game, but I'm extremely happy with Norma ammo in terms of accuracy. I shot three honest 1/2 moa groups in a row out of my 9.3x62 with a 6x scope (only three shot groups, but still).

Those are great groupings. Don't really require more than 3 shots to prove a rifles capability, besides, it's the first shot that counts the most.;)

I agree, until recently I never really heard of five shot group, all
I knew was 3 shot groups, and that from a old guy that use to set rifle up for other people... just like the sub MOA trend in hunting rifles, we use to say if you can hit that 12” steel plate at 100m you are good to go( it at the bench that was)!

Two shots for me out of a single or double, and 3 shots out of a lever or bolt. Hunting rifles of course. Heavy barrels belong at the range.

Oryx bullets are a favorite of mine for big soft skin game. I have used them in 9.3 (x74 and x62), 8mm and 30-06on Oryx (pun intended), big cats, kudu, eland, moose, elk, ....including in culling operations of many dozen head of the bigger african soft skin game.
They hold together but yet expand nicely.
I would calculate that in a 7x57 they would be just as fine.
