Norma TAC-22 High-Performance on sale at Cabelas

While the price may be appealing, Norma itself describes TAC-22 as "plinking" ammo, rating it the lowest on the scale it uses.

Below, Norma's comparison with some of its other .22LR ammo.

Well considering I'm paying 8.99 for 50rd box of CCI SV. Rimfires are like lays chips. You cannot have just one. If it doesn't shoot well in 1 gun, I got 3 others I can use.

Well yeah, we know it's not match ammo at that price...

Quite obviously, no one should think it is match ammo. It doesn't even have the word "match" in its name. It's a word that guarantees nothing.

More relevant, some shooters may believe that because a .22LR ammo is standard velocity it should shoot well. SV or HV has nothing to do with good performance. Some SV .22LR ammos can shoot just as poorly as many HV ammos.

I think most will just see it as..Oooooh 50% off ammo.

My Anschutz 1761 shoots this thing about 1.5” at 100 yards.
My Vudoo shoots it about 2” at 100 yards.
My RimX shoots it worst but still around 2.2” at 100 yards.
I have got 5000 rounds before about $6.5 a box.
So I have no complaints at this price

Thanks for another revelation on rimfire ammo. Just because it says match doesnt mean anything either!! I have lots of high end ammo with none of them saying match on the box. In the end its the lot that puts em thru the same hole and its not always the most expensive. I highly doubt any HV ammo is going to produce target quality groups consistently unlesss your shootin STANGERS. Gottah be real cuz I dun seen it on the TV. These samples dont have Match on them but I think theyre a little higher quality than STANGER?HAHAView attachment 633722

I bought two 50 round boxes of this a while back to try. Could be just me, but I had three misfires in the first box, and my daughter and I only shot 25 rounds out of it. I took them out and twisted them 180 degrees, they fired. The old Husqvarna hammers the crap out of the rim. Maybe just a bad box, who knows. Kind of scared me off buying more though.

I don't like to read that. I bought some to use on gophers, lost over 40 acres of canola to the beggers last year. This year taking the gloves (scope cover?) off.

I have had that happen with Winchester too, a bad batch were some don't have primer all around the rim. The silver lining is they seemed accurate and super quiet out of the long barrel single shot.

Duds can happen with all brands of mid/entry level rimfire ammo.

I'll be comparing it to cci sv, and fed auto match. Maybe Eley sport if I got any left.

Anyone in ON had theirs ship yet? Mine seem stuck somewhere.

I am in York Region, I got it today. I should have got it yesterday but UPS screwed me. The never came yesterday but claimed that I was not home to sign. And today they dropped off at my front door without even bothering to knock.
