Once again they have sent me their schlocky crap (which is good as I was out of return address labels :p ).

However, was wondering, has anyone on this site actually joined them? If so, what is the quality of the magazine and were you sent anything to test?

Hi,

Just joined last month or the one before:confused: , I received the magazine which is good and comparable to anyother one in that matter. :) but the subscription price was ok.

Didn't receive any "free stuff to test" , nor did I receive the free receipe book... which should be in shortly.

What product did they sent you to test?

I have been a life member for a couple years now, no regrets. The free stuff is cool: gun case, cleaning pad, batt powered lantern, ect. They also have some pretty good deals on clothing and acc. once in a while.

wonder where they're getting our names? i got a "package" in yesterday's mail too- can't see how i can oblige, seeing as i don't hunt anymore- of course i could just take the stuff and write b/s

They suck.

The magazine is crap. and thier business practices are crap...

They are fun to screw around with, of course, just like a Nigerian Scammer:)

Don't do it!
I got suckered in last year by a flashy sticker and promises of free bows/guns/equipment/etc. The magazines are reasonable but generic, they surprised me with a "How to hunt deer" book for which I could buy for only x $$$ The latest that I ripped up was an offer of a drillbit set for $40 per month for however long.

Spend your money in Canada instead.

X2!

Anyone out there get that huge iron on patch for your, , vest that you wear with all your buttons to your club meetings?
I laughed so hard when I got it. Didn't laugh much after I thought my membership fees paid for that piece of crap!
I told them to hire a patch designer who wasn't hooked on bartbituates.(sp)

The guy's on the forum there are pretty friendly, just like here but all the magazine's and book info they have is pretty much all Yanky related. Never found any Canuck content whatsoever.

Haven't been on their site in the better part of two years. Maybe they've come around....

Don't get your panties in a knot waiting for those free products to try out. They have a pile of members and not so much stuff like they say they do, it's just a gimmick to get you signed up.
I applied for a year and a half to get something to try and ended up getting some prelubed gun patches. They were awful, real coarse weave that frayed and left little threads all over your gun and in your gun.:(
Strange but they didn't post my opinion of their stuff either.

They will give you enough key thobs, coat zipper thobs and stickers to make you think you are in a grade two nerd club.

Enjoy.

I guarantee you'd be further ahead learning from the folks here than buying their crap literature, it is no better than the generic stuff in Hunting magazine.

Just my opinion though.......

Marstar or SIR. Pretty sure its Marstar.

It could be SIR as well. I haven't purchased from Marstar, but I have purchased from SIR. I used both my home and work addresses on different orders (and No, I wasn't hiding anything from the wife! :D ).

I have received their offer at both addresses.

I have to say I kinda' like it...and they do have Canadian content, but their main focus is understandably the US.

I find the magazine to be just as good and better than some on the market...I'm sick and tired of all the magazines published by Prime media Corp. having the same recycled articles...buy 3 different magazines from them and you'll find the same damn article about the latest 4X4 truck from Dodge, as if that's what you wanted to read about in a hunting or shooting magazine?

Some of the merchandize the NAHC schills is crap, but there is some nice stuff too. Some of the books are good, others are useless, you just have to pick and choose. Anything you don't want, send back at their expense, they don't send me stuff unless I actually request it.

The price for membership is more than reasonable and you'll have to pay at least twice as much for a subscription to a US based hunting magazine.

I was a member for a few years and like everyone said it's American ,no Canadian stuff unless you read about how Americans love to hunt here. However the reason that I quit was they sent me a bingo daber to try and I sent back a "not so glowing report to them" The next month here is this great report on this thing signed by some guy in my town, so I checked the phone book and there is no such guy.
I believe they are a advertising firm for manufacturers and get this stuff for free to give to members.
In the 3 years I was a member they never once sent any "bows ,firearms or anything like that north of the border. I used to check the reports in the maginzine, all of the better stuff went to the States.
If you like to read magazines then I guess it is Ok, but I would keep your money here.
My 2 cents
Cooner,

They are in the business of making money... period.
Don't get ripped off by these scammers.... join a respected and established organization like Ducks Unlimited or the like... at least some of your money will be used for conservation.

I joined for the mag only. Not bad reading for the throne. I never expected to get free merchandise, (you're dreaming if you thought you would!).

The subscription is only $16 for the year, and I've wasted more than that on other crap, so who cares.
