North Americas best waterfowling

If you were planning a one week waterfowling trip, where is in your opinion, North Americas most consistant, best waterfowling area/spot?

I'm no expert waterfowler, but I am guessing it depends what you want to shoot. There's plenty to shoot at around here; any guide worth his salt could show you birds every morning.

If I was going to pay to go on a hunt, though, I'd go somewhere that hunted from sinkboxes. That looks like a blast.

Alaska to shoot Divers, especially Harlequins. There is great Waterfowling in every province if you look hard enough.

I hopefully will get to hunt Wolfe Island this year, I would say it has the best Waterfowling in Eastern Canada.

North America opens a whole lot of option theres the prairies, Southern flooded timber in Arkansas and similar states, The Cheseapeke bay for divers, parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for black ducks, sink boxes in the saint lawerence river, The classics in the great lakes like wolf island and others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Just checked out Wolfe island on line and it stated that their is no public land there... all hunting must be with the written permission of the land owner.

Good luck, the whole island is privately owned. Unless you know someone or use a guide service you are out of luck.

Don't forget Texas for the Goose migration. Some day I dream to hunt following the whole migration, from north to south then back up with the spring snow goose seasons

Peace River Alberta area (Northern Alberta), that's where I've seen the most foreigners paying big $ for guided hunts. Probably a good indication it's among Canada's best.

The territories in early Sept. Yeah their all brown ducks but their is a 25 bird/day limit.

Bluesclues. You have to try a hunt out west man. I couldn't believe my first season in Alberta, taking more birds before 9 AM than I had in a month back east. The limits are good and it's easy to gain permission from landowners.

I am working on Edmonton being my next posting. Several people I have spoken to echo what you just said. Keeping my fingers crossed.
