North Eastern Arms NEA My experience with the company

I had great service from NEA as well. I bought a Gen 1 10.5 used off the EE. The first problem was the trigger was double firing. Pull the trigger, fire, release the trigger, fire. They replaced that right away. Next thing to go was the bolt broke. As well as the gas key wasn't properly staked. Again they replaced them right away. Since then it's run like a top. One of my favourite ARs.

Your firearm ran great except for completely failing twice and having the good ol NEA chisel staking?
Sounds like the boys on AR15 forums discussing the amazing groups they get, but only after ignoring 3 flyers in every group!

How about this; My wife's 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe ran great, after the 3rd transmission in the 4 years we owned it!

Why do people seem so happy to rely on a manufacturer to repair an item repeatedly?
When did "NEA will repair their junk no matter how many times it breaks!" become a selling point?

I get your point, but what's being illustrated is how a company responds with customer service. There are some brands/dealers that are deplorable, clearly NEA is doing a good job on the service front.

I emailed and asked about getting a newer version of a firing pin for my upper. They responded an hour later (7pm on a Thurs) and sent out a new pin right away. When the pin got here, there was also a spare complete bolt in the envelope. I have no idea why, but it went into the range bag as a backup.

So they had a rocky start, but its nice to know that if something goes south, they will support the product - try that with your Norc after the first year. Plus they are Canadian! How many products are made here anymore? They are getting better with QC it seems, lets give them a chance!

I would rather a company never have to respond to costumer service calls because they never get any, ever.

Who wouldn't? They just don't exist. Pick a manufacturer, you can bet they've had QC issues. Everyone from Norinco to KAC has has blunders, it's how they are dealt with that separates the good from the bad.

I found the customer service with NEA was absolutely pathetic.... can't reach anyone ... And when you do one person says one thing then another will say something completely different. They lied and when I finally after months and months of trying to fix the issue I finally had one guy swear up and down he was the guy to make it right. Low and behold he stopped responding to emails and completely disappered ... Clearly some moron above his pay grade shut him down. Ended up selling the POS at a significant loss. I will never buy another NEA product just out of principle. I refuse to buy any part they make right down to the last screw. I thought hey why not buy Canadian and support a home based product, what a major mistake. NEA can kiss my a**

Yes, but what do you really think? ;)

I've built a few AR's now,3 off of NEA lowers,a colt and 2 ATI's,appearance wise, the NEA's are my favorite.i had issues with my first build,a 7.5" with the CCS stock....rifle wouodent lock open after the last round...used a dpms lower parts kit.called NEA.they gave me a new lower parts kit to install in the rifle....still had the issue....talked to them again and we figured it wasent the rifle at all,it was the gen2 p mags that were the issue.they also sent me. Few upgrades for stuff I didn't even have issues with,(bolt face, firing pin, etc)

They had a rocky start.....but from what I see, they aren't the same company as they were.customer service is top notch.....when my dpms had issues it wasent near as good of an experience with customer service, and sadly I'm dealing with the same group for service on my para 1911
