North Eastern Arms?

NEA - Canadian made, warranty, dealers, reliable, customer service. I picked up one of the early models used and it still shoots like new. Would recommend them no problem, especially as a first AR. When I venture into a build, you can be sure some NEA parts will be in there.

I'm liking to get my 1st ar soon and considering NEA.
One complaint I've heard is the trigger pull, is it really 18lbs? Does NEA offer a lighter trigger or is there a simple way to lighten it?
And, is there a reason they made it such a heavy pull?

For the money, it looks like the best deal out there we can get in Canada.

NEA customer support is top notch. I bought a vz 58 top rail from them and like an idiot I lost the spring. No questions asked they mailed me a new one. Quickly too. So when I get into the ar game I'm going NEA. Moneys a bit tied up in a Tavor and a Swiss right now though.......

I believe that was on a few of the first rifles they produced and sold. When customers suggested that it was rather heavy, they switch subsequent rifles with a lighter trigger(thats what I have). So chances are if you bought a rifle today it would have the lighter trigger.

This to me speak volumes about the service at NEA. There arn't very many companies(if any) who are that tuned in to their customer base that they start switching out parts between batches to make the gun better!

I got a bit of an anomaly with my gun. I got a slab side by mistake(didn't even know that was an option!)...so no forward assist for me but I havn't had any issues and love the gun. If it wasn't restricted I'd take it everywhere with me.

If you do choose to buy NEA, you can't go wrong in my opinion.

There's a big difference between "meeting milspec", "Exceeding milspec". In the eyes of the US MIL, below grade or above grade is still not on the line. It's a rule, not a guideline.

I believe the Norc is neither on all counts. Does it mean it won't go bang and put a hole in what you're pointing at? Nope. Will the finish wear off and the parts break down sooner? Probably. But if you don't shoot enough to see it, or care how it looks then you'll likely not care. Most people around here don't shoot enough to even wear out a Norc. Personally I don't care much for them. i know a lot of people that do shoot them though.. and even a few that shoot very well with them. One thing I do like about them is that they have got a sh!t load of people into the AR game that couldn't afford to before. And how can that be a bad thing?

If it goes bang and does what you want, then it is doing what it's supposed to.

Class act. NEA went up a notch or two in my books.
