Looking for personal choices, opinions in things that are a must have in the north. Looking for items for clothing you recommend. Jackets, boots, layer system.name brands or what to look for. Also, what about a knife, hatchet, stainless items or painted..among and details for things like fishing gear, hunting items. what about EDC, should one living in Yellowknife always have on them.....? I know i will need to get a little work done on the truck in order to ensure it should start all time, block, battery and transmission warmers....or something like that. What else do you all recommend, not to exclude anything else you can think of. I'm interested in your exp with the areas.

This is in preparation for going north, and want to make sure if there are things i can get at wallmart here, cabellas, or mec, than ill do so in order to save on shipping and or inflated prices in Yellowknife or anywhere north of 60.
