Northern BC Trip

Wow, amazing. That is heaven on earth..................

Looks like a great time. Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

Well worth a few scrapes and bruises, eh.

We rented horses and got instruction on how to pack the horses etc.

All of us had been on horse hunts before, but none of us had done any real packing on our own. I found the whole horse packing/handling workto be fascinating, and very enjoyable.

On the other hand, horses can really try your patience at times.:runaway:

I learned a mountain of experience. Previous horse hunts were out of a outfitted camp with a wrangler up before day break taking care of everything. A couple of guys with us had rented the horses in previous years which made the whole trip a lot easier.

I'm good to go next year though. I can tie a diamond hitch in my sleep now and I have the better trails figured out..:dancingbanana:

Looks like an amazing trip! Too bad you didnt find any rams other than dead ones ;)

Not very good story tellers though, give some more details on the trip so all of us can be envious :D

We spent our long weekend getting ready for sheep season, doing some searching and spotting. Saw four rams, one for sure was a shooter(not yet open). About 25 yews and lambs, 20 goats, 4 grizzly bears, some decent elk and one smaller bull moose( He will be good eating when the time comes :D)

So lets hear some more about your hunt :D.

Pictures suck without good detail :D :p :)

Eeny, meany, miny, moe... Get your ass in the frying pan horse...

Nice pics Gatehouse! Truely pretty country...

Cheers
Jay

I will make an attempt at finding a full curl California Bighorn closer to home, although it is pretty unlikely to find one. only a couple are found each year in these areas.:)

I wouldn't mind taking another stab at elk, if I have time and I can find someone that can point me in the rigth directon (no elk around my house)

Awesome looking trip and I'm glad the rumour of your injury was just that.

Looks like some Great times in Nice Country:)
Awesome Pics:cool:

Great pics Gatehouse

I was up in the Fort Nelson area cutting seismic line back in 2000. It sure looks a lot different without snow. :D

The area we worked in had animals that had never seen humans before. I called moose within 50 yards of our truck, and we had a fox that would come everyday to visit us. He would take food right out of our hands.
