Does anyone know if the standard K98 sling and bayonet used with the post-WWII Norwegian K98 in .30-'06 had any special markings? Were these items stamped with the rifle's new Norwegian serial number, or did they bear generic Norwegian markings and were thus issued with any rifle?

Many thanks!

Please correct me if I am wrong, as I very well may be, but I thought Norwegian K98 bayonets had a stamping on the scabbard's frog stud (traghaken), perhaps a serial number?
EDIT...I was likely confuse with Yugo k98 bayonets...still, here is a good reference site on the bayonets.

It's possible some are marked, but in my experience, many are not. And I have bought K98 bayonets and slings directly from norwegian surplus dealers a few times now. None showed any markings other than the German ones, though scabbards usually don't match the bayonets any longer.

I haven't seen any actual Norwegian marking on much really. Seen the Kongsberg and other manufacturer stamps on Krags and Kongsberg manufactured bayonets. Then there would be the Steyr marks on Krags etc. Also found some crown ink stamps on a Norwegian gas mask and M31 helmet, but haven't seen anything on a post war bayonet.

I can post some pics of those crowns if you like.
