Norwegian K98 ****PICS ADDED****

Thanks for sharing... interesting video. Kind of reminds me of my Reserve days; I wasn't much older than those teenagers. Of course, I carried a mid-50's FNC1A1 that was prone to jamming... I think I would have preferred a Norwegian K98!

Can you twist the rod and align that way?

Just to let you know, my German K98 cleaning rod arrived from the Czech Republic today... and... my bayonet fits over it perfectly! So, the cleaning rod that came with my Norwegian K98 must be a Norwegian-made replacement.

Regarding bayonets, my '39 E. Pack & S. bayonet fits smoother/better than my '41 Clemen & Jung bayonet... so my son got a nice gift yesterday... his first K98 bayonet. :)

Loving the Norwegian!! What a great rifle and now officially on my do-not-sell-ever list.

I have a norwegian K98 as well, and they are damn fineshooters. Especially with the AE m1 garand loaded ammo. Buttery action, immaculate bluing, only 3 parts on mine don't match (barrel [for obvious reason of being a new .30-06 one] rear sight ladder [the slider matches though] and the bolt release lever) aside from that, everything down to the stock, extractor, and captive screws match. It's harder to miss with it than anything. I hope you paid a decent price! The norwegian mausers on EE right now are ridiculously out to lunch on what they're asking right now.

I don't bother posting pictures of my groupings anynore, but my last outing with my Norwegian K98 at 25 metres was 1.5 inches (10 rounds)... and I wasn't really trying... I was more focused on rapid shooting and reloading... when I walked up to the target I thought I was looking at somebody elses by accident. There's no doubt that the Norwegians installed match-grade barrels on these things. I am going to make an effort to really focus on accuracy at 50 metres and see how well it does. Of all the K98/M98's I've owned, there's no comparison in accuracy, the Norwegian has them all beat. I am shooting Prvi Garand ammo (150 grain).

If I can get one as perfect as mine for 700$ a year and a half ago, then it's not economically possible for them to go up 130% in value. People need to get real

There was a consignment through prophet river for $1500. Common code, complete mismatch, heavily sanded stock and patchy oxide finish. Never posted on their site so it must have sold right away.

Guess if you want one badly enough.
