i know many bits do not interchange between the us and norway versions ...

any info most welcomed .:welcome:

If it's 1/4x25, then try 6mm by 10 pitch (to the cm). Some metric threads on older US rifles anyway: their Armory was set up originally to produce a French musket. Should be able to get them at your local machine shop.

Standard 1/4-bolt is 20 tpi if National Coarse, 28 if National Fine, 26 if British Standard Fine or Cycle Engineering Institute. National threads are US standard 60-degree V, get from a hardware store. BSF and CEI are based on the Whitworth standard 55 degree rounded V threads; go to a British motorcycle shop for them.

BA threads (as on the Number 4) are a metric standard with a 47-1/2-degree thread: no use whatever on a Krag, one would think.

Good luck!
