Just Picked Up A 1919 Colt 45 Acp-11.25 Mm.( Made In Norway)the Safety Goes Off When I Pull The Trigger, Is This A Common Problem, and Is It An Easy Fix For Gunsmith. I Know All Colt 1911's, 45 Parts Will Fit, Bryan

First, I assume that you mean the safety lever on the frame, not the grip safety. Is it with the hammer cocked and the safety lever in the up position ( engaged ) ? Then you pull the trigger and the safety drops down ( disengages ) ?? .
Have you fired it & if so does everything else seem to be working okay ?
I don't think it is a common problem but on a gun that old it may be just a worn sear or disconnector .
I would suggest that you have a competent gunsmith check it over before shooting it. It may be in need of some repairs first.
Other than that I wish I had a Norwegian Colt. I don't know if they are rare but they must be somewhat of a collector's item.

Colt Safety Problem

YES ,ITS WITH THE HAMMER BACK. WONT FIRE UNTIL GRIP SAFETY IS PUSHED AS WELL AS THE TRIGGER. BUT IT DROPS THE SAFETY DOWN AND THE HAMMER FALLS. THE GUN SHOOTS JUST FINE AND I;LL NEVER CARRY IT WITH A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER, JUST THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A SIMPLE FIX, BRYAN. :dancingbanana:

Definately a problem, take it to someone close to you familiar with 1911s. Either wear on the hammer or afety, or someone did a very "agressive" trigger job. Norway bought some Colts, and built some under licence I believe. I thought it was a model 1914, but my memory may be playing tricks on me again. - dan
