Does anyone on here know who in Canada sells the Nosler 280 Ackley brass?

If I can't find any I'll end up fireforming but I'd rather not shoot 100 fouling shots in my new gun if I don't have to.

Anyone else make actual 280 AI brass these days?

Thanks

Dunno, but I've always found fire-forming my own brass, more than just "barrel fouling". Nbr one you are forming the brass to "your" rifle. I just finnished the same operation that you are talking about. Fire-forming 100 rounds 280 A.I. I took the oportunity to practice my reload from the shoulder technique. Good practice...at the end my re-load was good and I had a hundred rounds of fire-formed brass. Whichever way you do it, enjoy the new rifle.

If your chamber is cut properly, (I assume it is) you can use the "Cream of Wheat" method of fireforming your new brass. This eliminates throat erosion and barrel wear, and gives you perfectly formed brass to load with your proper loads. It has been outlined here before, but here it is again. Prime your case (any primer will do) Put in 10-14 grains of Bullseye pistol powder, I then put a tiny wad of tissue in to form a barrier between the powder and the C.O.W. Fill case with C.O.W. and put a small wad of tissue or cotton batting in the neck to prevent spillage. Take you rifle out to some safe, legal to discharge area and fire these cases with the barrel pointed in a safe direction. Voila! perfectly fireformed 280 AI cases. Don't forget to clean your barrel before you shoot serious loads in it. Regards, Eagleye.
