Nosler 48?

You think its worth the price tag? Wondering what would make it better than a full custom built to your own specs...Other than it says Nosler on it...

I haven't shot one but did handle one at SHOT. I'll take a Cooper anytime and for less money.

when they were $2600, you'd only be spending about $300 more than if you were to build a custom. The average hunter doesn't want to get a custom rifle, even wealthy one. IIRC the Nosler is now over $3000, not a good value IMO.

They are a heavily worked Weatherby Vanguard action with a great barrel and a light, stiff synthetic. Great trigger, some sort of powdercoat on all the metal. And they're quite unique being a NOSLER rifle

Makes sense, after seeing the bolt, and it takes Rem 700 bases...

WSS wants over $3800 for one...

Bill Leeper built my wife a custom rifle on a Howa/mossberg action and it didn't cost anywhere close to $2800 bucks. Shilen match barrel, hi tech stock, timney trigger total cost $1680 but it dosn't say Nosler I guess thats worth another $1200

Yup, but it took me a while to get you to admit that it was the same action. Clincher was when you showed me how the Nosler bolt field stripped nicely and then we proceeded to twist the Vanguard apart the same way and they looked to be interchangable

Not that I dislike Howa, but I personally expect more than a reworked factory action on a rifle that claims to have a "custom" action for $3000. I have Rem 700's on my custom's, but make no claims of them being proprietary.

I just call the Remington 700's the Bartell 007's, and a strip of electrical tape over the stamp on the receiver really boosts resale value

There is one at the local gun shop for $2499.99, it has been there a little while. I was very close to taking it home last year but do not need two .300WSM I am sure it would go for less now.
