NOSLER Accubond versus Partition

I was planning in IMR4831 and 4350, but after you guys raving about the slower powders, I may just try the RL22

I have always been able to match (essentially) the speeds obtained with RL22 with H4350. The SD was less with the RL22, but it is tempurature sensitive. Dime for one ten cents for another.

I load 180 Accubonds in my 300RUM at 3350fps. I've hit whitetails as close as 100 yards and there was no sign of the bullet blowing up. Clean hole though and through. So if they can take that then 300 Win mag velocities are fine.

Both the partition and accubond are excellant, accubond being a little more accurate on average but, if I was getting sub .5 min angle with partitions there is no reason to change. Just my 2 cents worth, Cheers Kimbernuck.

True. And for two decades I have been happy. But there is always something new and better right? I love the B.C. and the ability to use the heavier bullet with better ballistics.
I can adapt.

I love BC too, thats why I choose to live in BC, ha ha. I also use accubonds in my 7mm wsm because of bc;s as well, but they are accurate in my gun. You can have all th e bc;s you want but accuracy is more important. We are reloaders, we can shoot what ever we want and thats what keeps it interesting. Cheers Kimbernuck.

I absolutely love the Accubond. I think it is a better bullet dollar-for-dollar then the Partition. I load 200gr Accubonds in my .300H&H @ ~2700fps MV.
I could get more velocity, but it shoots plenty flat enough even at that sedate velocity and it absolutely pancakes deer. I've shot 2 whitetail bucks with that bullet and had complete end-to-end penetration, the only complaint would be that the bullets exited so I could not check them.
Any Accubonds I have shot into test medium have demonstrated wonderful expansion.

I also load a 200gr Accubond in my 8x57 and flattened a whitetail with that last November. Same thing, no bullet to examine, it went right through (broadside shot). I get 2650fps MV out of those, in the 8x57.

I load 140gr Accubonds in my .270Win. Shot a pretty decent whitetail with that. Put three shots right through it... bullets kept on going...
I load the 140's to 3025fps MV.

FWIW, the Hornady Interbond I believe is every bit as good as the Accubond and it's even cheaper yet.

I'm thinking your coldest is a lot colder than his... oh wait I'm wrong your both from Alberta its freaking cold everywhere there... :p

I disagree. I think it's cheaper for a reason. Take ten rifles and shoot both accubonds and interbonds in them and I bet 80% of them will group tighter with the Nosler. Also Ive seen reports of Interbonds pancaking, wide expansion with moderate penetration....Nosler Accubonds seem to penetrate well

I agree my buddy shot 2 mule deer this last fall @ 200 - 250 yards with Interbonds in his 7mmWSM said penetration was terrible both deer were hit in the front of the chest with excellent shot placement but both traveled further than he has ever had to track deer before came close to losing one it went so far.

This was the first time he had ever tried them on game and he tells me he will never use them again...

Due to the heat used in the bonding process bonded core bullets mushroom faster than standard core bullets so I'm thinking that the Interbonds are softer than the Accubonds and should only be used in low/medium velocity cartridges which really defeats the purpose to speeding extra money for the Interbonds.

^ I have shot 2 deer with 165gr IB's (.30-06). Spectacular results, one-shot kills with complete penetration. I couldn't recover the bullets obviously.
I quit using them because the early IB's had issues with the plastic tips on the nose coming loose. I have no idea if the resolved that problem. I decided the 165 IL was good enough, on deer and they are cheaper then the IB's.

Been a while since I shot 'em but as I recall the Interbonds were pretty much just as accurate out of my .30-06 as the Interlocks.

I do not have any 165gr Accubonds. I will get some and when I do, I will follow up by doing a comparison between them and the Interbonds.

I'm not hacking Accubonds. I swear by them!

Not my experience at all. I have shot a variety of game with my 300 wsm, and 165 interbonds. A caribou at 250 yards penetrated to the offside hide, a bear at 40 yards penetrated 3.5ft, a few sheep at 200, and 150 yards respectivly both exited.

I do like the Accubonds as well, but I have had excellent results with the Interbonds. They are extremely accurate in the 3 300 wsm rifles, and 2 30-06's that I load for.
