Nosler accubond vs Barnes TTSX

Used to shoot AC 180 gr in my 300 wm.

My finding is that they don't shoot good anymore. I mean that the new ones are hard to group. I compared a new box and a 2008 box.

Made me switch to Barnes TSX 180gr.

Happy camper since.

I prefer the accubonds or partitions. One reason is that I like to hear that thwack when the bullets hit. For me a much higher percentage of animals drop in their tracks with the noslers. That might not mean too much with deer but with a moose you don't want him going anywhere after you shoot.

I loaded up some 180gr Accubonds and 180gr TTSX'S and they both grouped identically out of my Tikka T3 in .300 WSM (same load and seating depth) I haven't shot anything outside of paper with either bullet but wouldn't hesitate to take either one with me into the field. :)

Fleury, I have a suggestion. Why don't you try the 140 Accubond? It will be more than adequate for the bigger animals, yet will work well on the lighter game.

I have been using that very bullet for 4 years now, and with very good success, regardless of the game shot.

Regards, Dave.
