Nosler bal.tip 95gr for .243 win

Performance depends on use. I use lighter bullets for varmints, and my Nosler choice for deer is the Partition for .243. I would expect a 95 gr. Ballistic Tip to be too frangible for reliable deer hunting. Broadside shots may be spectacular, but ......
Have loaded many 95 grain Partitions with 42 gr. IMR4350 (I consider that a max. load in my rifle).

I dont' think they are too frangible, we have been using on deer for a few years. (.270 win 130gr.).
Broadside shots passthrough with good expansion while a head on shot will eventually stop with remaining bullet still having 60% or more of its orginal weight. (animal dropped on the spot).
I would try H4831 or RL-22 for that 95 gr. I use those powders for 100grainers.
130 gr. in .270 is not a 95 gr. .243.
I do not recommend the Ballistic Tip for deer in a .243. I have used Ballistic Tips for many years in a .270, and have actually moved to the 150 grain version in the .270 for a bit less fragmentation. What people expect from a bullet varies. I expect complete penetration on broadside shots ALL the time. I no longer believe the .243 version will provide that. Partitions are an entirely adequate bullet for deer in .243.

The 95bt are great on deer. Just put your shot where is counts. The 95sst is also good.
42 grains of H4831 with the 95 nosler bt is what i load. shot hundreds. works great for me. little fouling and a lot of punch. this i would consider a maz load.

I have used the 87gr Hornady and they shoot quite well, settled on the 95gr Hornady SST bullets for my Remy 700 VLS with 43 grs of H4350, that spits them out at 3265 AVG fps. Just took her out to 525 yds the other day and hit my gong 5 out of 5 times.

I use Varget and H4350 in my 243. I've had good luck with 80 gr TTSX and 85 gr TSX. They sound light for deer but hold together very well (they haven't been as accurate in my other rifles). I would second the 75 gr V-max for something that opens fast, not suitable for deer, but accurate and can be driven fast.
Have you ever used it in a .243? if not how can you say they are no good ?
I load them in my 243 , 95gr nosler BTs under 40gr of IMR-4831 . You are right on one thing as Broadside shots are spectacular........... They drop dead right there and then
have shot many many deer with them and they work great and are accurate as hell . That is my personal experiance with them .

Bullet construction is the same. SD is close and MV is also close....we're talking about Deer....NBT's are fine....No need for Partitions here.
Personally Im not worried about a little fragmentation...if you are may as well go to a Barnes TSX/TTSX type bullet...but again we're talking about light skinned animals.

I have had great luck with 41.5g of h-4831 and 95 g NOS ballistic tips
My favorite 100 gr. bullet load is 46gr. H4831 should work with the 95 gr bullets as well. Just checked Hodgons web site and see they have down loaded to 42 grs. max like the Lee book, my 24th edition book goes to 47 grs. of H4831. Could be a change in burn rate or just lawyers.

I believe that the books are being cautious for good reason.
I just had a friend who almost locked the bolt on his 243, using 45 grains of H4831 and the 100 grain Partition.
43 grains was about all his rifle would safely use with that bullet.
If you are using 46 grains and getting away with it, OK, but It is too hot in some rifles.

Yes Eagleye there is quite a variation of data that is one reason when i buy powder i`ll buy a large amount of the same batch number. A 243 i built for a friend has a tight bore and uses a lot less powder than mine. I hope to chronogragh them both and see the difference.

I have personally taken over 20 deer with a 243 shooting 95gr NBTs, and too many coyotes (and other varmits) to count!
My pet load is 45 gr of IMR 7828 at about 3050 fps.
@ -20c I use 45.5 gr (usuall temp when I get out to hunt deer) @ 0c I use 45 gr and at +25c I use 44.5gr of 7828........Yes it makes that big of a differance!
If I keep an eye on the temp & ammo box I grab all is well.... If not, they all work, but not as well as "I" like/want. I usually just go with the 45 gr load as it is passable at all temp ranges.
