I've taken several deer with the 140gr BT in the 7x57 Mauser and the 130gr BT in the .270 Win.I've also witnessed two 1 shot kills on good sized bear at close range with the 140gr BT in a 7mm Rem Mag.They are an accurate bullet and get the job done. Having said that,they are a bit on the tender side and tend to break up inside an animal.For bear I would be more inclined to use a heavier bullet that holds together a bit better-something like a 180 gr Hornady or Speer.

And FWIW the 168 g ballistic tip (30 cal) also has the thick jacket at the rear. From what I have HEARD.
