Nosler Custom 48 Sporter

Nice rifle, I wonder if anyone in Canada owns one yet since they are fairly new and with a hefty price tag. Any dealer carries them in Canada?

I handled and fired a few rounds out of a Nosler in 300 WSM. Accuracy was mediocre with factory ammo the guy had (Federal Premium, don't recall type), wood was pretty bland for a $3500 US rifle. Fit and finish was good. The Dakota's and the fancy wood Cooper's are in a different league,IMO, especially concerning accuracy, and they're on par in fit and finish with nicer wood.

Pac Nor barrel, Bansner stock, Rifle Basix trigger and an action that closely resembles a Howa is what you're getting, at an inflated price since it says Nosler. Like Blargon said, you can do better with a custom.

Buy Back Guarantee
If the NoslerCustom® Model 48 Sporter rifle does not live up to your expectations in the first 30 days after purchase, Bob Nosler will personally write a check to buy the rifle back in the same condition as it was sent to you.

I guess that means unfired....... :D

IMO you could build more for less...

Exactly!
I handled a used M48. It was "pretty" but seemed overpriced for cerakote, pacnor bbl, ptg bottom metal and a chunky basner stock. The action looked like a reworked howa action to me.

For less dough you can get the rifle of a lifetime (wish I could afford it) ie: mod70 or custom action, lilja or krieger bbl, Mcm edge or wildcat stock etc.

A bit of a necro-post, but they seem like a good deal during the cyber-monday sale. The trophy grade is US$1495 and the professional grade is $1795.

Ive got 2 of them, one in 300wsm and one in 270wsm. With both rifles accuracy is great. with nosler factory ammo and handloads I have been able to exceed the accuracy gaurentee. I am very happy with both of them. I paid $2699 each a wholesale sports when they were clearing them out. I think they were worth the money, Just my opinion.

I never shot one let along hunt with one however I did handle one at a sporting goods store. I love fine firearms but I have to say that this one does not meet my expectations of a fine firearm. It has a robust feel, the action is sloppy and even sounds cheap. It had a good balance and look to it but that is the only credit I can give. Over priced? YOU BETCHA!!!

X 2

Love Nosler products but these are way too much for what you get.

At US$1475 for a base model or $1775 for SS? I understand they have a Pac-Nor barrel, Basner (?) stock, Cerakote and Micro Slick finishes and guaranteed 3/4" (Professional) or 1" (Trophy Grade) or better groups at 100 yards.

Barrel - $450
stock, finished, bedded etc - $600 (?)
Cerakote + Micro Slick - $250
Action - ??
Gunsmithing - $600

That puts you at $1900 + the action. My friend just had a rifle put together on a Remington 700 SS action with Krieger barrel and McMillan Edge and he is into it for about $2000.

Just wondering out loud here, but for example, how is a tupperware stocked Sako any better at the same money?
