Nosler.. NEVER AGAIN

A simple fix. Use a digital counting scale. That is how I do it. Way less issues, now I will admit I did short a client 2% the other week as I didn't use the scale correctly as I had a brain fart. I made it right.

That being said, I banished hand counting out of the shop a few years ago as it caused too many issues. I fill a plano case with a 100 piece sample and then go from there. Then I add 2%. It is a pretty simple formula, and it works well as long as I don't screw it up.

Always a pleasure to do business with you. That camdex saves many steps in prep. Have yet to find the slightest issue .....with even one piece of brass.....and that's after Can Post plays football.

Back to OP. Retail is more and more online. What they save on brick n mortar storefronts is huge compared to a tiny fraction as a line item for customer service.

If this experience equalled the consensus of treatment on the rcbs thread》》》》Nosler would have sent you a full bag of brass, you would be praising them to 193K members, and a $80-100 accounting item would add thousands to their bottom line.

Its kind of a catch 22.
If I buy online ultimately the shops around me would go out of business. Ie. WSS, millarm,
(I am clearly stating neither place is where I bought it)
So when I buy local I get screwed because I cant return it.
The only reason I would want to buy locally instead of online is for the service. If I can get it there it leaves few choices.
I order lapua products from Clay at Prophet River and its cheap, its fast, and he will back anything he sells.

A few months back I purchased a box of premium Nosler partition ammo to try in my .243 Savage. Well turns out they would not chamber properly in my gun. I assume brass was not conforming to SAAMI spec. Never had a problem with any other factory round chambering correctly. Since the store I purchased them from did not allow returns on ammo, I sent an email off to Nosler . I got a reply within a day or two and they suggested what the issue was and seemed to indicate they would be following up and sending replacements. After a few weeks went by without any word I sent them another email. The same gent replied and basically said I was SOL. I was a bit disappointed to say least since the price of this ammo was considerably more than what I would normally spend. Needless to say I will not be purchasing another box of Nosler ammo. I do however use and really like their bullets for reloading.

I've thrown out 9 out of 100 in Winchester bulk brass due to already split ,mal-formed necks.
I've had 300 grain Nosler Partitions in a .375 H&H shed the BACK core on impact leaving the jacket intact.
I've had factory Hornady 300 Win Mag that would not chamber one round out of a box of 20 while the other 19 fed flawlessly.
Hornady factory 7X57's that don't behave the same between rounds in the same rifle /same box ammo.

####e happens and that's why it's best to hand load and test again and again.
I've never had an issue with Nosler or Lapua brass but not saying it can't happen.

I have NEVER had 1 issue with Nosler brass.

It is an Extreme time saver because it's ready to load right out of the box!

I have also never had an issue with Nosler bullets....except ballistic tips driven past 2900 fps can be quite explosive.

Likewise, never any issue with Nosler products. I have been shooting their bullets since 1965 or so, and have
come to trust the Partition implicitly. Never been shorted in a box as far as I can remember.
Have a bunch of Nosler 300 WSM brass that I converted to 325 WSM. Very, very consistent stuff.
I had an early lot of Nosler 270 Winchester brass that was slightly soft, but have not had any in recent
acquisitions. Great products from a great company. Dave.

Nosler doesn't make brass, they probably don't even package it themselves. Hornady neither for that matter.

Years ago I bought two bags of WW new 45-70 brass and both bags had 50 pieces - but several pieces in each bag were 300 H&H brass instead of 45-70. I contacted them and was basically told to piss off and stop bothering them.

I currently have about 10 boxes of 308 Accubonds and Partitions. So I thought I would check a box. 51 in that one so I don't think I'll bother counting any others.

Always thought Nosler was over-hyped and definitely over-priced, but you throw sh*t customer service in to the mix? That's three strikes. Nope, not a dime.

Contacted nosler about a few bullets missing some of the copper jacket. Was told because I was Canadian all they could do was send me a hat or sticker.

Nosler usually has one or two extra bullets in their 250 count boxes of ballistic tips...I have a few boxes of 22-250 and 30-06 Nosler brass that is unopened...Now I can't wait to open them up and count...It's one thing to be short a few bullets but a green Case-Gard box missing a few rounds of loaded brass is hard to take.

I'm just glad I can get Nosler bullets up here in Canada. They make the best bullets as far as I'm concerned and I've loaded everything except Berger. Hornady is good too but they don't make a bullet nearly as good as the Accubond or Partition as far as I'm concerned. I wish I could get the Nosler 'seconds' the guys in the US can get.

Hornady makes the very good Interbond... if you are looking for something comparable to the bonded construction of the two you mentioned.

In relation to the thread: The price alone has always turned me off Nosler. I can get Lapua brass which is just as good, at lower cost. The brass I have from Barnes is very consistent. Bullets? I have no accuracy issues with Lapua and Hornady bullets... both (aside from rimfire and bulk pistol) constitute the bulk of my supply with zero complaints. It's simple free market principals: Why spend more for something that isn't better? By patronizing other manufacturers collectively, we force Nosler to be competitive, which they don't seem to be doing... they don't have a monopoly on magic bullseye seeking bullets/components or excellent performance on game.

This just happened to me with Federal match grade brass, only thing is I came out on top, there were 55.
Nosler are however my preferred hunting projectile, it would take more than this for me to give them up. After over 150 big game animals I can honestly say they are without equal.

I have zero issues with their quality. I really like Nosler products, so I was willing to pay the premium. Maybe it made me "that guy" but when I take time to inquire about 2 instances of me being shorted, I flat out get lied to, followed by literally being laughed at. Its sad, but its actually a no brainer. Lapua is great.
I wish we had a really good Canadian manufacturer

If a manufacturer advertises 50 in a box and shorts you 2; would it not be law to fulfill the quantity of 50 for the price you paid? Would it not be right to fix the problem if a mistake happened?

Sounds like its letter writing time OP

Just counted my 7 mag brass from Nosler and all 50 were there. The only problem I had with nosler was the tip on the accubonds fell off this was years ago. Nosler replaced 3 boxes of them one was 225gr .338 one was 150gr .308 and 180gr .308. Some had one and two tips missing this was post 911. I still use nosler for for 95% of my hunting bullets the other 5% is a mix of barnes and Hornady.

To nosler it doesn’t matter as we are Canadian. If we were American they would bend over backwards to fix the issue.
