Nosler Partition vs Hornady

Nothing similar to the Partition in hornady's line up.
The interlock is a good cup&core bullet and should be more than adequate in most cartridges, save maybe the high velocity magnums. Hornady does make bonded bullets, as well as mono-metal bullets if you are expecting close range impacts with big animals at high velocity.

If he has some Hornady "Interbonds", they are a premium bullet, and may come close to Partitions in equivalency.
The Hornady "Interlock" is NOT a premium bullet, and will not replace the Partition.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have been out of reloading rifle for many years and just getting back into it. There are so many bullets out there now I have been confused for weeks so I have decided since I have the same guns go back to the old Nosler partitions which have always worked very well for me. Problem is I cannot find them local. Is there a site sponsor you guys get them from?? I will be reloading 243, 270 and 280 for deer and coyotes and just picked up a 223 so will be trying that also for coyotes.

Nothing replaces the Partition, except maybe the A-Frame.
Give the GMX a look. It's a mono-metal Hornady; should penetrate like a Partition - or better, and it seems to open up wicked-fast like a lead-core bullet. It can handle very high impact velocities, although I wouldn't use it in cases where the impact velocity is expected to be much lower than about 2500-2600fps
So would the partitions you buy today still the same design as they were say 15 years ago??

Define "premium"....if you are shooting 180 grain .30 cal interlocks in anything up to, and including, the big .300's I defy you to show me the difference. Several moose down and out with this bullet in both a 30-06 and a .300 win.
I do like partitions, and while they will retain a little more weight and hold together a little better, there is nothing magic about them. The interlocks have been around along time, they are not as frangible as a ballistic tip or even a game king, and they shoot pretty accurate in most guns. I wouldn't think twice about what would happen if I shot a whitetail or a moose at close range. I know what the outcome will be.......

I've used the partition for moose for many years now, and if I had the choice on my bench between the part and the Hornady interL I'd use the nosler.
However either one will work just fine, I would add one more Speer Mag Tip, I still have a few of these.

Don't bother with Interlocks if you want premium. Hornady might not offer what you are after.
You don't need Partitions for any of those calibers on any of that game. Use the Interlocks. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. - dan
