Where does a guy order/buy a nosler in this country?

I was considering one myself and reached out to Nosler to clarify. It's not made by Howa but essentially a copy of the Howa 1500 with some minor aesthetic changes and manufactured in the US, or so they claim. I still wonder if they start with a Howa 1500 base action and modify it at their facility as opposed to maching the whole action from scratch.

I am really liking my Weatherby 240 wby even though it's a Vanguard it's made in Japan where the good quality stuff comes from can not wait to sight it in

Howa makes great actions…at their price point they are a great value.

At the nosler price point, not as much.

The 48 has a different bolt release then the Howa, some folks say it's made by BAT, I have no idea, it's a Howa footprint, and people have confirmed Howa bolts will fit, there are also reports that the receiver and bolt are investment cast, others that say only the bolt is cast.
The bolt release looks very much like a Sabbati, and they do cast everything, could be a Sabbati made action possibly. Nosler only says assembled in the USA, pretty tight lipped about the whole thing.

I had thought it was actually made by howa and then assembled with what ever trigger stock and barrel nosler wants to use. I have a couple of these and I was sure it was just a howa action. I guess you learn something every day

Not much. The bolt stop and bottom metal are a bit cheesy. Bolts are forged, actions extruded, recoil lug integral, field strippable bolt (so field stripable that I sometimes pop someone’s bolt apart and pretend it fell apart in my hands; the look on their face is priceless)

The Howas and Vanguards are great actions for the price, but less so at Nosler price.

No they werent. Similar in design, but there were differences, and the 1500 was based on a Sako design anyway. The Nosler actions were made in the USA, not by Howa.

I have one ( WB Vanguard 1500 S-1 ) and used it for my 416 Taylor Build - Functions Excellent - I Had ( sold) 2 S-2 s a 240 WBee and 257 WBee and both Functioned Well ! All Good with me BUT still prefer a M700 Remmy Action ! jmo RJ

You’re right.

The nosler is an investment cast copy of a howa that they put in a bell and Carlson stock and charge a premium for.

Nosler's new rifle is a mack bros action, shilen barrel, mcmillan edge stock and a triggertech primary and should sell a bit over 2k usd

I would suggest buying a nice Win M-70 of your choice and skip all the Nosler/Howa BS. and the extra expensive of having Nosler stamped on it.
