Not allowed to sell any IVI components anymore on the EE? Why?

This is no different than a post being removed from the EE a few years ago (wasn't my post BTW) where a board member who also happened to be RCMP was offering practice ammunition for sale. The ammunition was legally acquired through the RCMP (according to the OP) however because the RCMP sells cases of practice ammo to members at a discount there was a potential issue of Code of Conduct with the member possibly being seen as using his/her position as a member of the RCMP for personal gain (getting an RCMP internal price for ammunition intended for maintenance of operational skills and then selling it to the public and making a profit). It may or may not have been a long shot but why allow board members to place themselves in jeopardy? I'm sure the OP was cranky about not being allowed to post but in the end it was in their best interest.

Maybe they weren't aware of it, allowing it simply because they didn't know. Seems like it would be easier to just not allow it rather than run the risk of allowing someone to have a place to sell ill gotten munitions salvage/DND government property.

It's not grey. It's black and white, noone is to be in possession of DND munition salvage other than contractors for the purpose of smelting it to manufacture other products, especially not some dude who happens to just have 5000 cartridge cases with post 1994 headstamps IVI with NATO interchangeability marks and is selling them to profit on a public site.

Also regarding the guy who found spent casings left from the Olympics, 1. the army should not have left it behind, that's on them and it's against policy completely. And 2. if you did take the stuff (I'm no lawyer here) but yeah I'd say you probably are in violation of possession of unscreened military munitions salvage/DND property even if it is because the Army is retarded and left it behind. I'd assume you should have turned it in/reported it to the nearest CF Base or Law Enforcement who would then contact the CF and have it picked up after which whoever left it behind would get a blast of s**t but again, you don't know any of this, so it is what it is.

Lets not forget, it's not just law abiding gun owners who frequent this site, the RCMP troll this site guaranteed. I assure you there are persons all over selling DND property including ammo and salvage. It happens all the time and is very common. More than three quarters of all the investigations I see are around this exact situation.

Either way, that's not an answer to my last question lol What major conspiracy theory do the rest of the people who are offended by this have? Someone please let me in on it :D
Shill accounts? Aliens? Bigfoot? Inter Dealer moderator trading scams of the third kind?

So they should have used a metal detector to search the snow for brass ? I can't see how they could have removed brass that had melted through the snow. Most of it got raked up in the spring but I'm sure some is still sitting there. The RCMP are certainly aware of this grave offence as they were there too !! :)

Should I return my handgranade pins.....since technically it is DND property?

What about the green underware they "let" me keep?

actually, yeah you are suppose to return the pins, just like the spoons. It confirms they grenade is spent by returning the same # of pins and grenades. underwear is different and you know that. it is next to skin so you either keep it or exchange one for one.

Aye, I don't respond to people splitting hairs and getting into semantics....

And yes you were supposed to return the pins from the grenades with the cans they come in to confirm the expenditure of self contained weapons lol

As for your underwear........how much do you want for them? I'm pretty cheap and I like to save :D

So the entire issue seems that because CGN Admin doesn't like that fact that several members who aren't paying to be a dealer here may be selling for a profit brass they acquired in large quantities from crown assets disposal etc?

Are mods and admin going to start cracking down on those asking prices for items equal to or above retail for a profit? Are you going to start cracking down on those that are selling NIB firearms monthly on the EE?

NO

The issue is that IVI brass has the very real possibility of being stolen CF property.
It has happened before.
So, unless you have a receipt for a govt sale, no EE sales.

The issue with being a dealer is secondary. If you DO have a receipt for several tons of brass, then you can sell on the EE, but you are expected to become a dealer.

Clear now?

Every time I tried to exchange 1 for 1, I left with 2 as no supply tech would take the used ones.

Isn't this basically saying everyone is guilty without proof of exemption much so the same as firearms laws, firearms licensing and the government has done with us?

No, it isn't.

If the goods were legitimately purchased for resale, they may be sold here.

If your a dealer but what about general members? As the rule is written we flat out aren't allowed to sell any period even if it was obtained legally from a dealer.

The rule is flawed. We are all guilty without reasonable grounds to make us exempt from the rule.

The sale of IVI ammunition, components and spent casings are disallowed in the Equipment Exchange forum.

Only business members are allowed to offer IVI brass or casings in un-demilitarized form in calibers equal to and no larger than 50 Cal.

Any non-business members that solicit and offer any IVI ammunition and/or components will be immediately removed from the equipment exchange forum and banned from the forum.

I've got about 15 pair stashed away, size medium. And a few dozen of the 4 types of socks....
