I am fairly new to rifles with detachable magazines.

I have a bushmaster xm15 e2s and took it out today with some RRA LAR-15 10 round magazines.

With the full 10 rounds in the mag it fails to feed. If i only put in 7-8 it works fine. With 10 they seem really tight. Is there any way to ease some of the spring tension? Like maybe leaving it full of rounds for a week or somegthing?

Thx guys.

I had that issue so I filed down the follower about 1/8 " to allow more room. Mine was tight when loading off a closed bolt it would jam. Off a open bolt it was ok sometimes and sometimes the bullet tip got caught on the feed ramp.

Cool i will try using them alot and then if that doesnt fix it, then maybe fileit a bit.

Try loading them with 10 rounds and then setting them aside for a week or two. May just be enough reduction in spring pressure to allow for full 10 round mag.

I had the same problem with a couple of mine. This seemed to work. I also worked the spring/ follower up and down multiple times in the mag to "loosen it up"
all is well now

I use them in my eagle arms AR15 - when I first got them, the first load of the day for that mag would not allow the bolt to achieve full battery, thankfully the F.A. compensated for that.

the fix...

shoot more...

I have 5 - thanks questar - and the feed properly now.
