Not Good with the VTR

Nope the stock is not free floated from the factory. The stock has two point's at the top of the stock were the barrel exit's the stock.

Most remington rifles (hunting and such, not the tactical) have the pressure point that touches at the front of the stock and allot of gunsmiths I talked to and read about said NOT to remove that point or it will actually make your groupings worse.

i sanded the pressure point from my 700 in the vls series, i have problem with groups now

Later on though I plan on swapping the stock to something else and have it free floating and bedded properly.

Figure Id post this here.

Now Im not a "marksmen" by any class, Im a hunter through and through so if I can shoot good enough to bring down game then Im happy. Lately though (this year) Ive been "playing" more than hunting trying to refine my rough skills, and lately this has been my game.

This is what happens when a Golf ball meets a Winchester Brand .308, 150gr Power Point at just over 200 yards!
