Not impressed with BC Hunting tag policy

That sucks. The other new policy im not too fond of is that you have to have ALL of your tags with you at all times. Doesn't matter if that animals out of season or the tags been filled.

Sorry to hear that.

Their draw system is all screwed up as well. Simply luck of the draw. Some get drawn every year - others never do - no priority system like in other provinces.

Sounds about right for a government agency.

Do the bare minimum and make it everyone else’s fault when your fail to do you job.

Also find it laughable our NDP government makes you re-buy your tags after you have already paid for them to line their anti hunting coffers. What a joke

So you’re not going to hunt at all this year on the basis of $40?

Don't get me wrong, I agree that having to pay again is ridiculous.... but missing a season because of $40 sounds equally ridiculous to me

I have some sympathy for you for sure but if you're claiming to be too busy in June please let me know which school district/region you're in because my kids spend the last two weeks of school watching movies because the report cards have already been submitted so "there's no point teaching anything".
Of course you also had July to follow up on the tags.

My comment wasn't meant to be a personal shot. I just cant fathom the idea of losing an entire season on the count of $40. Mistakes can happen, but a $40 mistake isn't the end of the world.

luckily I'm in small town BC and have a governments agents office that is close by and rarely a line up.
I think the new hunting license/tag system is a complete joke
The old booklet and tags worked , all they needed to do was keep the same stuff but bring it online.
but nope, more complicated crap and hoop jumping with people waiting for tags in the mail.

we have to stop electing stupid people.

Priority systems are less fair than a lottery like we have here.

Here's why: whatever the max points is, the year after the first group achieves that, the odds start to reduce again. Eventually, new guys have next to no chance of drawing, as the top of the pool gets more and more loaded with top priority guys...who's odds are being reduced annually too, as more people join their max points group. Priority point systems are not better than a true lottery.

Does the revenue from tags in B.C. go to something specific, or just into the provincial government revenue pile?

Buying my tags tomorrow. What's the issue?

OP bought 4 tags in June and didn't receive them. He subsequently followed up on the matter 2 months later and was informed that he was required to follow up on missing tags within 15 days of purchasing them. Because he didn't do that, he was told to go to a license issuer and pay $10/tag to have them reissued

With a true priority system like Alberta uses, there is no maximum points, your odds of drawing do increase every year that you apply.

everything in BC goes to general revenue LOL

we're being scammed hard in this province but the sheep just keep on being sheep instead of filling the streets and demanding accountability for our cost of living. Meanwhile the politicians and government employees using that general revenue to make sure they have nice comfortable enriched lives..... like that douchebag head of translink who gets a 25% raise this year. He already makes 400K + , what's another 25% out of the general revenue slush fund ?
hehehe ranting I know.
