I have checked out all the shops within 1 hour radius of me and they do not have any powder in stock for the 9mm. Im not even looking for the "go to" powders...Im down to one can of HS-6 and Im out. Sad day. This is mostly due to horders from what Ive heard. So if any kind soul can put me on a lead to some 9mm powder supplies..that would be cool.

Cheers!!

need Bullseye so bad... argh.. I haven't seen any Alliant powder in a long long time... One more pound left
Scuttlebutt on Alliant powder is that ATK sent out notices to Canadian importers to not place any new orders until some time in late 2015. They are currently working on filling back orders which go back to 2012/2013 and are shipping them as they get filled. So hopefully that means Alliant powder may start showing up again.

I haven't seen pistol powder in months but I scored a buch of of someone who got of of reloading so now I'm set for years

Keep on calling the stores and asking when they have it I pay over phone and then pick up when convenient
That's what I do with rifle powders

I've had an order in with Cabelas for some Win 231 and got a email yesterday saying it will be in the store for pickup in 5 - 8 days. I've had it on order for quit awhile.

I wouldnt hold my breath bush1 but hey good luck to ya

Well, I'll be..... Got a email from Cabelas last week saying my Win 231 was in and my daughter went in and picked it up for me. Don't know if it was just my order or if they have a bunch in stock but I'm back reloading now.

Varget is one powder I don't use, but have seen EVERYWHERE, and in quantity...

My keg of titegroup is almost dry, though that's after going on a reloading binge. I've probably got ammo for a year, for most of the stuff the family shoots, so if I don't find any more for that long I should be ok.

Don't know about the hoarder thing. Maybe some guys do, but not everyone is going to stockpile a few dozen pounds of powder. I do have more on hand than I would if supply was plentiful. That's mostly a pound or three of substitutes here and there, though. I could live quite content with titegroup, RL7, 2400, and something like h335. Right now I'd be surprised if I had fewer than a dozen different powders in my little bunker...

Yeah, my local pusher has very little pistol powder in stock. I have a few pounds of powder for pistol, including a 4pound keg of 2400. Luckily, over the years, I've always been in the habit of grabbing a pound or two of stuff I use if I saw it on the shelf...whether I needed it at that time or not. Now that habit is coming in handy! However, I am running out of Alliant powders since they haven't been around in some time.

On the flip side..I have an 8lb can of Varget coming and can shoot my .223 and .243 till the second coming of Christ..lol

8lbs of Varget??? I guess you must be a hoarder too.

Some people use the term hoarder others use different terms such as forward thinking.

A hoarder will clean out a store while a person who plans ahead buys a reasonable quantity when possible.
If the quantity he or she purchases is a little more than is needed a small surplus is built up.

Logically speaking it would be more economical to purchase 3x 8lb cans and be done with it since you save on the cost of the product and the shipping and hazmat but then you are labeled a hoarder.

While everyone else was looking for bullets last year there was plenty of powder and primers to be had.
This year while everyone is looking for powder I bought plenty of rifle bullets.

I have only been shooting for 3-1/2 years so I didn't have a stash to fall back on.
I have learned to buy when it is available rather than when you need it.
Let this be a lesson to you.

^^ I felt like a hoarder the other day buying the last 3 bags of 100 .311 boolits at a local gun shop but I haven't seen .311's in 2 years, its impossible to build up a surplus on 3 bags/2 years so I don't know what that makes me haha

I'm not a hoarder but when I see powder I buy it.. I have maybe 12lbs of wsf 3lbs of universal and 6 lbs of varget .. You can't hesitate in this powder shortage .. If someone had a lb of wsf now I'd buy it... On a side note if anyone is looking for a trade for powder let me know as I need some others that I can't locate

I was down to less than a 1/4 lb bullseye and couldn't find anything else suitable for 9mm.
Turned out a friend had 4 lbs of AL-7 and I traded some Clays for it.
30 year old powder and reloading data for 9mm, I might be nervous the first few rounds!

I have a fair bit of Alcan powder, AL5, AL7 and AL8. I found load data for 38 Spl and 45 etc but could find no data for 9mm.

I thought that the AL5 might be too bulky for the small 9mm cases but have not done any (cautious) experimentation yet.
I want play with some old Helcules Hi Skor first in the 9mm.

So many obsolete powders and so little time!
