Not sure about my new EOTech

Final update. Shooting with a HWS is definitely fun! Rapid target acquisition is cool. And I managed to tighten up the group to approximately 4-5" at 100 yards. However, that's just not good enough for me. I like 1" groups. So I am switching back to traditional glass for hunting. (There's a nice EOTech for sale on EE now.)

I really enjoy using my EOTech for CQB type shooting, and the occasional mid-range shooting...this with my ARs. Very useful for 3 gun, and a bit challenging at longer ranges, unmagnified, that is...all-in-all, I like it.

But as you stated, the advantages of using a magnified optic for hunting will out-weigh those of the EOTech. Far more versatility at longer ranges, and more precise shot placement will definitely help your chances of success while out in the field.

Not trying to be rude but you're using the optic incorrectly. Do not look at the reticle. You are to focus on the target. By doing this the reticle will appear very crisp and give the illusion that the reticle is "on" the target.

MM

Also if you wear corrective lenses or have astigmatism, the reticle can look blurry as it does project it in the distance as you mentioned. Might be that?

Easy way to test it is to take a photo of the reticle. If it looks clear in the photo but it looks blurry to you, it's your eyes. :)
