Get yourself a .223. Factory ammo is cheap like borscht, you can target shoot with cheap fmj, and theyare easy to load if you want to go that route. I would suggest you go with the sako if you have the dough. Nothing wrong with the savage, but you will likely want to upgrade eventually. I went the cheap route with my varmint gun when I got into the coyote thimg, and I upgraded...... Twice, before I got my current piece, and now im happy, but I shoudve just spent the coin!! Good luck
