Not sure what happened at Range?

I was trying a new powder for my 500 S&W - Hodgdon Lil'Gun. I loaded five rounds to try with 41 grains - each individually weighed in Starline Brass with winchester large riffle primers and a 350 grain Hornady XTP bullet. Four fired fine but one (third in gun) had a small boom followed by the normal large boom. No damage to gun, no stuck bullet, has this happened to anyone before?

I guess the powder took some time to ignate? A hang fire or something?

Looks like time to change primers to a magnum type or increase the load within safe pressures to reduce air space in the case.

yeah Magnum primer is a good suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions, if it happens again with this powder I will try a magnum primer.
