It's not a particularly hard target at 20 yds to be sure. The 3/8" @ 20 yds is definitely the easiest one, I think the originator of the target suggested 20-25 yds. for that one. I'm no wizard with a rifle and I got most of them.

The 50 yd version uses 1/2 inch circles, the 100 yd one is 1 inch circles. I think that'll be a different critter altogether.

I might try and cook up a 20 yd pistol target along the same lines.. 1" circles would be a good place to start. If I put them close enough together I should get at least a few :)

With the weather improving steadily, I'm going to make some 50 and 100 yd attempts with the rifle soon. I'll be lucky to get 50% at 50 and 25% at 100.

Half inch at 50 yards and 1 inch at 100 yards are the same apparent size: 1 MOA, and you're right... that's a challenge for just about anyone! :)

Yep, both are 1 MOA, but the extra 50 yds that the wind has to play with the bullet is a big factor, ammo consistency also plays a bigger role at 100 IMO. Put it this way, I might be able to hold 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds.. maybe. If I shoot 25 rds inside 1 inch at 100 there'll be a media event, I promise!
 
Since we haven't revisited this thread in a while, here's a new one.

It takes a little bit of head scratching to get the sizes you want with the right fills and spacing, line sizes, etc. I found that using a center bull size of 7.7 mm plus line size of 2mm will give you a bull diameter of pretty much exactly 1/2".

I've got a new rifle on the way, so my interest is rekindled..lol

The best I've managed at the 50 yd tack driver is 14 tacks driven out of 25, I need to work on that.. I think it's a touch harder than shooting groups since your POA changes with every shot. On the plus side, you get a fresh aiming point every time.

If you save the image, you should be able to print it on 8.5x11 paper.. mine wanted to print in landscape mode, had to set it to portrait.

 
Two-Person Battle.
If you can find another shooter to compete against, then I suggest a game of "Battleship". We have adapted it to handgun or rifle at our club, and because of the amount of ammo consumed (likely 60-100 rds per game), we use rimfire .22LR. Unfortunately, it takes more time than some shooters like to expend on a game. It goes like this: shoot 10 rds, walk to target, score, then patch holes, walk back to firing line and repeat process until all opponent's ships are sunk or a Truce is called. For handgun shooting, we set the target at 15 yards: for rifle iron sights 25 yds: for rifle scoped 50 yds. Not only do you challenge your marksmanship on 1" square blocks (ships occupy between 2-5 blocks, depending upon ship type) but you get to work on your probing strategy to find the enemy ships. My weakness has been in finding all 5 enemy ships to sink.
 
Man I was shooting my 455fs with irons at 50m today, won't be posting those results after seeing these! Definitely printing a few of these out for my next range trip! Thanks OP!
