Note to self...DONT drink creek water anymore!

Look up the definition of LEPTOSPIROSIS. As owner of a hunting dog, I have my boy vaccinated every year against this. It is a disease that your dog can tranmit to humans.

Basically it is caused by the urine of infected rodents, deer, beaver...etc
These animals do piss in the rivers and streams. Carry bottled water in the future.

I caught Campylobacter in Uruguay. Luckily it was on the last day of my hunt, but it DID NOT make for a fun 22 hour ordeal on the multiple plane rides home...

Great weight loss program...

C/H 312; I'll bet you were drinking from one of the springs that feed the swamp that starts Dubiney (spelling?) creek . Both have had beaver in them for a couple years now.I used to drink from them to but not now:eek:.Been there done that :( . Get yourself to the Doc. as it will keep coming back.

I know what you're going through and you're lucky you're at home where you can suffer in 'peace', but I bet your arsehole wishes you had a bidet.

Anusol is a life saver:redface::D 5 rolls of tp since tuesday night:(

had to get it last year when i ate nothing but italian and greek food for 2 weeks. i guess all that spicey food and olive oil they use will ruin a white boys ####ter if your body aint used to it...

We own two camps, at one camp we put a 20" culvert into a spring coming out of the sand at the side of the hill and away from the river. This spring has fed the camp for over 50 years and we just replaced the culvert. At the other camp I found a spring coming out of clay. The hole in the spring where the water is coming out of the ground is nearly a foot around. We put a plastic 45 gallon drum over the spring and within 1 minutes the water flowed over the top of the barrel. I have drank out of springs in southern Ontario but always where it comes out of the ground with a strong flow all year long and no matter how cold it gets the spring never freezes or how hot it gets it always flows the same. I guess I have been lucky.

Yes, there are all kinds of nasties waiting for you now days. When I was younger, I knew where every decent spring was in the areas we hunted. Never had a problem, we even drank lake water. Sadly, that has all changed, and one of our guys got sick about ten years back. Spent much of the week in the outhouse. Luckily a couple of doses of Kaopectate (sp) settled his inards.
That pretty much ended the raw water drinking for us.
