Don't tumble your 50BMG brass with 250 Savage....

Seems stupid, but was a bugger to get them out, the media was PACKED in there.....vibrating wouldn't loosen them.....finally grabbed the necks of the 250s with pliers and, with a bunch of cursing and jiggling, got 'em loose.
After thought: should have tried compressed air and a blow-gun, might have blasted some of the media loose....

That does look a lot tougher to separate than what I wind up with if I accidentally have some mixed handgun cases mixed in. Its always surprising what turns up when I sift though the tumber media, usually some surprises in store.

I did the same thing with .223. Mind you, they were probably easier to separate then that.

9mm in 40's is even tougher. I think 40's in 44's was the worst, though.

Thankfully I'm not using any bottle neck cases with mouths big enough to have the problem of the OP. I always would end up using the bullet hammer to get the cases out.

i've had 9's in 40's, 9's in 45s, 40's in 45's and thety can all be a #####. the worst is when a 9 gets into the 45's in the case feeder in my 1050. bent more decapping pins and stems that way.

I'll second that
When I was scrounging range brass, I'd slip up once in a while and wind up tossing 44 mag cases in the garbage that had 40's jammed in them. It's like you put them in there with a hammer and added super glue for effect.

Just out of curiosity, what tumbler do you use and what number of .50 brass do you tumble at one time?

RCBS vibratory......I only do about 15 at a crack, else it takes forever, and seems to be harder on media (I just use cheapo crushed walnut).

On top of that, I got some 40s mixed into 9mm brass in Dillon case feeder = fail. Happened too many times. Pretty annoying to say the least.
