A question for the informed Bluenosers here:
The Tobeatic Game Preserve? Is hunting allowed here by the general public, or through hunt clubs, or is it only available through an exclusive hunting lodge bookings????

From what I remember as a kid, hunting was allowed once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away, using muzzleloaders and archery gear only.....
Is this no longer permitted???

Cheers

There are a lot of changes and new rules going in place on all reserves and wilderness area's in Nova Scotia. I know one is you are not allowed any motorized vehicles in the Tobeatic. I don't follow it to much as there is a lot great area's to hunt in my county.

Yes fellas, I just found Liscomb and Chignecto areas for muzzleloader and bow seasons too!
Nice to know there are alternatives to "open" crown land hunting.
Mind you I have done mostly modern firearms here too. Just one Alberta deer with a bow in early fall, 2002.
All these years out west have spoiled me, so I am looking at the option of quieter/challenging/less congested hunting lands in NS....

PS While on this subject, did not one hunt outfitter offer for a fee, wild boar hunting on a private island just off NS coastline?
Rumors of it operating in the late 80's?

Cheers
