Nova Scotia varmint hunting???

Are you serious? you think Coyote are rare? lots around I hear them almost every night I am in the country, you can call them in to, called 2 in last year on a 1 day coyote hunt, no ground hogs to speak of :( Lots of deer around, they are practically giving them away in zone 2a (bonus zone) so you can get the opportunity to shoot 2. Look at the NS DNR website for more details, what part of the province are you moving to? also check out www.novascotiahunting.com lots of info there.

Moving to wolfville or Anitgonish in a couple of years.
Active gun club is one of many considerations between the 2.

Where is zone 2a?

It's in the Bridgewater, Lunenburg area so Lunenburg and Queens Counties. Not far from Wolfville area, lots of good hunting in that zone which is zone 2. Same goes with the Antigonish area that's for sure, the highest amount of antlerless tags are given out in that zone.

There is an active club in Sherbrooke, not too far from Antigonish. And there are coyote at the eastern end of the province too, though they got thinned a bit a few years ago.

farm country is a very very small percentage of Nova Scotia.
If you find a groundhog in the thick of the woods, which is the greater part of NS, your a better man than I
Goozyman, when I was posted to NS in 2007, as I passed the treaty gas station south of Truro, I did see a woodchuck on a farmer's fenceline, and he was heading towards the Halifax International airport too.(and no I will not use the underwear title it is now called!)
Perhaps he felt he had to leave town in a hurry! :)

I know, few and far between, but they are there.....:D

In Kentville/New Minas there is the Annapolis Valley Shooting Sports Club. About one hour away,in Dartmouth and Devon, HRM, is the Atlantic Marksmen Association and in Rawdon, the Nova Scotia Rifle Association.

The club nearest Antigonish may be in Stillwater, Guysborough County, the St. Mary's Shooter's Association. There is a club in Port Hawkesbury, Cape Nova, and there are at least two clubs in the New Glasgow area, the Thistle handgun club and the Staghorn Shooting Club. One hour away in Truro, Colchester County, is Valhalla, and about one and one-half hours away, in HRM, is the Musquodoboit Valley Rifle & Revolver Club.

Hahhhaaahaaa......good one, mark one up for Goozyman!
You should get out more to the Annapolis Valley/Fundy park my friend?

Cheers & have a good day ;)

yeh guilty as charged
heh
i guess theres more than meets teh eye in this great Province :)

We had a groundhog living on the range up at Bull Meadow (NSRA's 800m rifle range) alas, he got himself whacked (not by me) which is, in a way, unfortunate, as I was kind of hoping he'd lead to a small population explosion of them, which would mean pop-up targets for all!
