Nova Versus 870

I've owned both, and I ended up sticking with the NOVA. I just prefer it's features, especially the location of the safety. The plus with the 870 is it's popularity and the accessories available, if that's your thing.

Cheers

+1. I have a Nova and several 870's, and find myself using the Nova for most general shotgunning. Kicks a lot harder with the same loads, though.

Nova all the way. Better build, hold the value better and comes with adjustment shims. Also, you are able to swap round in the chamber without feeding one from the magazine - comes handy especially when hunting deer:)

Ohhhhh!! So that's what the mag cut-off ise for! I always wondered when it would come in handy!.

I have a Nova and it's a great gun. Have shot an older 870 which had tonnes of problems and it would jam a lot but that's not to say they all do. This one was treated like crap and passed around more than my sister.:D

The 870 is like the "Lego" shot gun. You can buy all kinds of crap that bolts right on to it with minimal or no mods.

Pick 'em both up and play around with 'em to see which one feels/shoulders better. Personally I have a small frame and found that I had to really stretch my arm to hold it properly. I have an 870 and the only time I've ever had issues was when I was using cheap wally world/ can tire 100 round bricks.

Yup - this is what is it for. Better yet - try SuperNova if you will be shooting lots of 3.5s - it has a compensator built in stock (they call it ComforTech stock).
