I don't normally collect Mosins, but I thought "why not buy just one".

Now, to turn it into a nice sporter.

Cool! :) It's a double-date MO rifle. Don;t chop it, it's relatively uncommon and wearing a proper pre-war stock for a 1932 Hex.

Where did that one come from? P&S?

Bubbartini Enfield

Bore is bright with sharp rifling.

Somebody has spent a lot of time working on this one. They have hand filed a receiver sight for it and drilled and tapped the receiver. No markings on the side of the receiver. Because of the overall plumb patina, I can't really tell if it has been polished, filed, or sanded which might have obliterating any martial markings. But I can tell that it is a 303 rifle conversion from a Mk.III rifle, has been Birmingham proofed for sale to the civvy market, has crown BV, BP, NP and nitro proof markings.

Hmmm, that last passage I wrote has got me thinking now, if the only markings are civvy markings, it might be a private purchase. It has a stylised 'B' engraved on top of receiver.

I bought this as a donor rifle, I have another Mk.III currently on its way to me, wait till you see this next puppy! It is something special :).
I need the trigger group, tumbler, cocking indicator, extractor screw, buttstock (pics shows it already switched it out for a beater butt), stock bolt, butt plate. I picked it up from a local chap (Hi Doug!) who bought it as part of a collection. I didn't even dicker with the asking price.

Just tried her out in my back yard. Shoots dead on and ejects with a 'ping', I love it! Deer season opens on Monday, so I might just use it for one last time before I strip her down.

So I got my pile of parts for $115:dancingbanana:, how did I do?

I got it from Epps, they in turn got it in a shipment from forum member "aacollectible" his website www.tradeexcanada.com It looks like they got a fair sized shipment in.

P.S. I had no intention of chopping her up....I just like the shock value.:dancingbanana:

OK, here's the haul so far this month (except for the M38 laminate pictured in an above post which is still en-route in the mail).

From top to bottom:
1944 Tula M44 on a Hex receiver.
1945 Izhevsk M44, laminate stocked.
1942 Izhevsk M38, laminate stocked.
1929 Tikka M28 SY rifle.

Looks like I'm going to have to start sprinkling birth control pills around my gun cabinets... these Mosins just don't know the meaning of Abstinence

Grr... actually I missed the most recent one by about 5 minutes. Someone else got it, though I pm'd that I'd take it maybe 10 minutes after it was posted.

Oh well. Can't have them ALL.

FWIW, there are still some nice laminate stocked carbines at P&S - It's just that the remaining examples would be "doubles" for me :(

ZRAK ON-M76B sniper scope with a (probably Yugo) copy of a German side-mount. Rifle looks like a sportered German K98k.

Possibly a sporterized legit German side-mount sniper with a post-war Yugo scope? Just a guess...

I don't think it is a German short side rail mount. I thought they all had the 3 smaller locking screw holes in addition to the 3 larger screw holes.

My guess is a Husqvarna sporter (with FN receiver) in 8mm. Very nice rig Richard!!

Riflechairs SSR doesn't have pins, so it's not a wwII sported K.98 sniper.

Not all of the German SSRs had locking screws. This is clearly illustrated in several books (there were about 3 variations of SSR mount).

With the M.41B the Swedes often had the locking screw holes, but (usually?) just used it to stake the main screws into place.
