November Purchases

That better not be the one from Epps. I was this close to picking that one up, just missed it by a hair

It is :p. I bought it last week when I saw the thread on here about them. Funny thing is that they emailed me today saying that they were sorry and it was sold, but when I got home from school it was sitting at my door :dancingbanana:.

That's it......your not on my Christmas card list this year.:p

I have some of those EG M-44's, even have a EG 91/30 rifle if your carbine needs company.

Slick! :D

Russian SKS

Well, "I don't collect Milsurp semi-autos", but I got a quantity of 7.62x39 ammo cheap and needed a gun for it. ;)

I don't know much about these (yet), but know this. Not counterbored, no import marks I can see. Appears to have the original stock (not laminated, one cross-bolt, murky dark-red finish). The receiver cover is marking-free, indicative of a late (55/56) Tula.

I guess...feels like 5rds when I stick my finger in it....

Not allowed to hang it on the wall...that would be wrong:rolleyes:

I just wondered about that silver circle on the longer mag....it looks like it might have pinned at zip.

Can't hang it on the wall:( :( :( :( ......God remember the good ole days.

How I long for them....full capacity mags and leave it on the coffee table.

Same thing happened to me a while ago - it was something on which I first sent an e-mail enquiry, but then decided to just phone and talk to them about it. After some discussion (and even having them e-mail more pictures to me) I bought it. Then, several days later, whoever responds to the e-mail enquiries finally got around to answering mine, with a similar "Sorry, it is sold" message ...

I'm very proud of myself that I successfully fought off the almost irresistable urge to shoot back with: "Yeah, it was sold to me, you idiot! Good thing I didn't wait for your response!" ;)

Martini Henry rifle Mk.III

Bought this rifle as a barreled receiver and parts.
mcvittierifle.jpg

It is a non military marked Braedlin made rifle with a barrel marked P.Webley and Son, Birmingham in cal 577/450.

The reciever is marked R.McVittie, Toronto.

I collect Martini rifles and Webley pistols, so how could I pass up a Webley made Martini?

The forearm has matching serial number to the receiver. Lever and breechblock are also original and numbered to the rifle. The rest of the assembly are correct non martial marked replacements parts I had on hand. I still need a rear sight assembly.

This is a project and I am taking lots of pics of the process for a future posting on its restoration. The assembly is basicly complete, the rest is cosmetic.

Just took delivery of an 1899, Italian Contract Broomhandle Mauser.:dancingbanana:
Slab side, large ring hammer, excellent condition.
I'll clean her up and post some pics.

I hope that that wasn't the Italian Navy Contract C96 which I was trying to get at the latest Haynes auction........
