November Purchases

happydude - I think you will need a slide as well, although the magazine may be fine as is. If you are going to shoot it as a .22, avoid high grass, you don't want to lose any of the cartridge carriers.

Apparantly the 7.62 and 9mm barrels drop right in. After thinking about it a bit though, for the cost of the parts and the hassel to convert it back and forth at the range I might as well just pick up an actual Tokarev. It's still going to be a neat .22 though.

I'm sure the barrel will fit. But is the slide set up for rimfire? The .22 rounds are centred in the carriers, so the firing pin in the Sportowy slide is going to be off centre.

Looks like I'll be the first to show off one of the recently imported Russian captured K98k's.

Awesome choice of code skippy, thats a sweet k98...I really dig the weimar eagles too. My dream gun is an untouched 1939 bsw k98 but that aint gonna happen :(

Another Mosin, for November.....Claven2 is at the root of this sudden Mosin Nagant spending spree....at least three more coming.

BSA 1918 No1 Mk III*

Got this from a board member. It was sportered but I had an Ishapore DP stock laying around so I dressed her up. I like the windage adjustable sight. It's pinned but it still looks so cool. There is a PH stamp on the right bolt way and it has been parked so a 1950's refub perhaps. I'm going to try shooting cast out of her. Should be fun. Thanks Dave

I just picked up my first gun this weekend. It's a severely bubba'd Lee Enfield No 1 Mk 3, but hey I couldn't say no.

I'm at this very moment tryin to restore it's dignity by restoring it, but I'm finding parts are going to cost signifigantly more than it did. I managed to get it for $35, which I am fairly sure was good.
H Wally out.

I don't consider it "severely bubba'd" by the looks of it - barrel appears uncut, receiver hasn't been noticeably buggered with, buttstock looks original.

Could be a good candidate for restoration if the bore is at least VG and it's not drilled and tapped.

It came with a bolt, but no mag. The bore is very strong, though also very dirty. Unfortunately, it has been drilled and tapped, but I suppose I'll live. I pretty much know I'll get another No1 Mk3, so maybe I will convert two into one nice one. I'm working on some stuff for it,but in the meantime I may make a wood handguard for around the rear sight, add a scope. How much does drilling and tapping affect the value of a rifle?
