November Purchases

Wow!!! Fantastic!!

Oh My! That is one of the finest Garands I have ever seen and I run Garand Matches.

Sorry, i should have mentioned it straight away, the Garand is arsenal refinished!

Receiver and all the parts have matching numbers but the barrel is a 1950 NM from SA and the stock is a replacement without stamping, but the seller said that it was war time production. I haven't found out a way of checking this though.

My new 1943 Mosin m59 and 1954 Tula SKS

Both in very good condition. Will be taking them to the ranger.

Happy to chime in this month

A long search concludes with the acquisition of a Ross Cadet .22 trainer.

What a small, light trainer compared to the SMLE conversions.

NICE SAFN!

A post Revolution model too! Mine still has the Pre-Rev crown.

Is that the original Receiver cover? It has English numbers, and not Egyptian symbols like mine... Interesting.

Hope your stripper clip guide works, unlike mine... (screwed with by bubba) :(

Here is the proper way to strip rounds into the magazine BTW, please don't file down the guide like the yahoo who owned mine previously.... They don't strip like a K98, they go in at an angle on the middle or top "nub" then go vertical to lock in the guide.

Cheers!

In my experience, they are the easiest to find - in part because they were among the largest of the contracts. There seems to be one for sale somewhere in Canada, almost all the time. In addition to the original military contract rifles, Century Arms built up a bunch from parts and put them into beech stocks. This adds to the total number of 8mm FN-49s.

Just curious, how much/common are FN-49's in 8mm?

bought a 1894 krag long rifle in rather tough shape outside but a very nice bore /rifling inside.
130$ got it and shipped as well.
found out its 1st year of production ( serial number 3 didgit) and made BEFORE the norwegians adopted the krag as military issue .

an restoring the stock ( original full lenth but a major butt -crack and other small things to fix) and same for the barrel .........outer very pitted ( was used on a fishing boat !) but i think i can make it a little pretty--er and then shoot it with reduced loads .
a fall project now 70% completed .

Picked this Schmidt-Rubin K11 yesterday.
Pretty good condition,VG bore, excellent crown (I haven't seen one like that yet) and all matching numbers as far as I can tell.

Brass and dies ordered and I will use C312-155 Lee cast with dose of Promo or 2400 under it.
I hope bore isn't too tight for this boolit :)

Not to nitpick, but that looks like a nice M1911.
Too long for a K11, unless you have really tall doors.

M1911 is 51.5" long
K11 is 43.6' long
