True Mk18's (or the M4 CQBR if not Navy) would use the Tan Eotech 553, or the Elcan Spectre DR.
I have seen operators using the Aimpoint M2, and even AFSOC using T1 micros...

The original 'chopped' Colt 10.3" and LMT 10.5" Mk18 Mod0's used LMT rear sights behind a CompM2 w/ PRI/Wilcox mount IIRC. More EOTech's and ACOG's later on.

I've owned many short dots over the years and although they are great sights, I think they're just too much weight. I always find myself going with a lighter system in the end.

the TA11J-G is ITAR

The TA31CH-G is not ITAR. It's much shorter and lighter and you have 4x instead of 3.5x but it only goes out to 600 (which is plenty IMO) and only has the standard 1.5" eye relief common to the TA31 series.
