Noveske wobble

This picture better depicts the meltiness of a Noveske KX3...

Its pretty clean in this pic, but I leave a bit of carbon build-up to protect the cone?

With full auto use. I think out neutered 5 round magazines are a blessing for the KX3.

Thats why they make the unit in pieces though, so you can swap out the venturi when it erodes to much. I have a brand new one with less then 100 rounds thorugh it, and the inner cones has some movement in it as well, not really what I would call a wobble, just enough slack that it won't carbon into one big lump if you don't clean it every day.

wow, what awhole lot of maintenance for a tin can. Maybe they should have made the liner out of ceramic or something. Who wants something that you have to clean all the time and either rusts to bits or melts..

Do SBRs really need them? I have a few thousand rounds through my 10.5 with no problems. I dont have a pig can either.

I run the original Noveske KFH on my 10.5" upper and the rear of that cone gets pretty rough!!!

The original cones were a stainless steel that Noveske "recalled" and replaced wit ha parkerised unit of different steel. The original cones weren't lasting........

The KFH/KX3 do look cool on the end of shorties, but I am thinking of going back to a Vortex or Phantom to get rid of the nose heaviness. My 10.5" functions flawlessly with or without the KFH............

SKBY.

I've never fired mine with anything else so I don't know how it runs without it. I won't be replacing the inner cone when it goes unless I have "issues". Does the vortex have any effect on the gas system? I'd like to run my 10.5 without the KF3 to see if it'll cycle....

I use just a regular LMT flashider on the end of mine..never have any cycling issues. Also have the enhanced bolt to.

It's off topic, but I just wanted to ask...
What is the difference between Comp and F/H? Can one do the function of the other, and vice versa? Which one sees more use by people?

A flash hider does just that,it reduces the signature of the firearm when fired.A Comp is intended to reduce recoil, and will in most cases increase the signature of the firearm.

Comps are common in competition due to the fact they minimize muzzle rise and allow for faster follow up shots.

Suppressors effectively act as both a comp and FH.

But Ghey Canadian laws don't trust plebians with them...

Howcome I never heard of krinkov's needing new cones? I guess this is just the case with this type of krink brake?

Maybe the 5.56/.223Rem has higher pressure/hotter gas that would erode the cone faster??????

Just a wild guess................

I got rid of the Noveske and went for a Vortex. It looks great, the way it redirects sound is nice but the way the inner cone burns out is a sham. You don't pay that kind of coin to have it burn out that quickly. To top it off the cone wasn't ever tightly fastened (how can that be good for accuracy?). If you've got money or you want a safe queen, go for it. I'll see how the Vortex runs.

A very good guess. very much the case. Not higher pressure, higher velocity, and hotter
