Novice reloader - quick questions!

I'm a novice who's just assembled my first reloads. I have a couple of questions.

I'm loading .223 Rem with 69gr Sierra Match Kings over Varget.

After seating the bullets, it looks like my brass is shaving a small amount of material off the bullet. Do I need to worry about this? Should I have chamfered the necks of my brass to prevent this?

Also, Match Kings have no have no cannelure. Should I try to crimp them anyway? Are un-crimped reloads safe to put through an AR-15? (Just curious on this last part. I was planning on feeding them through my Stevens bolt-action.)

Yes, some chamfering should reduce/eliminate the "shaving" problem. I'd suggest "don't over do the chamfering" just enough to remove the sharp edge inside the case.

The ones that are loaded and done already ... if I made them ... I'd feel safe shooting them, but I wouldn't expect as much in the way of optimal accuracy from them. Otherwise, a small shaving off them here or there won't effect "in gun" performance.

No idea about the crimping ... never owned an AR.

FWIW, I don't crimp my loads for my 223 bolt action savage. None of the bullets I've used for 223 or 22-250 (both 224 diameter) have had the crimping ring on them - and I've never crimped any of them - but I've never used them in a semi and don't know if it would be neded.
 
If there's no cannelure, trying to crimp means you will either distort the brass (crumple it backwards, ie) or distort the bullet.
